got beat by a mustang what should i do Well yesterday i was out at the spot where every one gathers and street races so i was with my buddy in his bullet mustang and ive beat him befor so i didnt care, then his buddy come along with a 98+ mustang with x pipe back intake and drag radials and i talked to him a lil and i ended up linning him up and a ???? well we go out and some one arm drops us and im spinnin (shitty half balded tires) and the mustangs Leaps about a car and a half in front so im catchin him pretty hard and we were commin up on cars so i had to let out and i couldnt believe i lost to a mustang so that pretty much ruined my night ...but we destroyed the srt 4 but and all and all it was a good race and now i need to modd.... i have whats in my sig and i have 3.73's sittin in my dinning room so when i get them installed and some drag radials ill be lining him up agian

Umm definately get some drag radials...and some tranny mods ..then try that little race again....I hope your silly little rearend that the factory installed holds up(it should , you have an auto)

What kind of RPMS at 70 would 4.10s give an A4 with a stock convertor?

Ohh dude, there's nothing left for you to do now, than to get one of those signboards that you wear, and write in big letters "I LOST TO A MUSTANG!" Put it on and walk back and forth on the sidewalk on the main street in your town and let people walk by and laugh at you!

If you where catching him, you had the faster car.
You just didn't have the proper traction.
Screw gears on a stock rear.
Get a Yank 3000 and some Nitto's or BFG's.

I would do the following:
Calm down, capitalize, and use punctuation.
Get real tires. Racing on bald tires is a great way to die. Ever hit a small triangular peice of plywood at 70MPH WOT on bald tires? They go pop pretty easy.
Put in the gears. Just know that you will eventually eat the stock rear diff. So you will be buying those gears again if you race from a dig a lot.
Race him again. Away from traffic. Racing with traffic is like racing at the strip without lights. IMHO it's kinda pointless. You dont get good runs in 98% of the time. Find a damn country road so that you get the room to really run them. There is also the not insignificant fact that you wont be killing innocent commuters if it does go south in a hurry.
