If you base your car buying decisions on resale value then you are nuts. I bought my 99 Cobra for $14,500 and solid it for $19k after owning it and driving it hard for almost 2 years. I bought my Vette because its what I wanted and not because of its resale value, I would have kept the Cobra if that were the case. We all have TOYS....they are not investments...never will be. And I am in the car business Gen 3 Vipers take a huge hit on resale value just like 996 vs 993 Porsche's. What you see them sold for is alot higher than a dealer would actually give you for trade in value. My brother has an 03 CL600 and book value and what they go for is at least $10k-$15k higher than what any dealer would ever give him on trade in value.

No, I mean we just showed you 3 different examples of a 03/04 C5 Z06 going for 33-35K and I just told you that my friend recently purchased a 2003 Z06 for 32K, but what does that matter, right?

No matter how you look at it, they depreciate to the SAME EXACT percentage at the end. You want to talk about depreciation??

One can get a 2006, 85K coupe for 66K TODAY!!! Want me to show you?That means that in one year only, the Viper depreciated 22%!!

What ever man..Ive ran my car to an 11.9 at 122 mph...Thats at 1000 ft DA in 70 degree weather. All i have ane KN filters and 1.7 roller rockers...

Im pretty impressed with what I was able to run so far....Are there c6Z06 guys a lot quicker bone stock running 11.6 at 125ish and so on..Yep...

Lot of bone stock SRT10 guys pulling better times than me as well..

But reguardless im pretty happy with my 11.9 at 122 car...So if you think your gonna make me feel bad because some Z06 drivers can pull better ET's or mph than me..Your mistaken..

To me an 11.9 at 122 is INSANE for a mostly stock vehicle off a 1.9 60 ft...

So again a C6Z06 is faster stock for stock..But come on im not driving chopped liver here...

My SRT10 is quite a bit faster than a 360 modena Challange Stardale or a Gallardo..But guess wich one Id rather be rolling in if they were both sitting in front of me vrs my SRT10..

Speed is a lot..Dont get me wrong..But styling and the word VIPER carry a lil weight as well

IMO the difference is I can go get a Viper and so can alot of the guys driving C6 Z06's...its just a matter of personal choice. My brother drives a Bentley Continental GTC on 24's and a TT CL600 Benz...they are both better luxury cars by far than the Vette. But at the end of the day I aspire for a Bentley or V12 Mercedes and you always make it seem like us Vette guys wanted a Viper and settled for a Vette. The Corvette is incredibly good at being a dual role car....insane performance and daily driveability and IMO the Viper will never be able to match that.
