Doesnt the same apply when racing from a dig???

And a lot of people roll race through more than one gear, so you still have to know how to drive, you just dont have to deal with no traction (usually) when roll racing.

Yes I agree.... thats why i love dig racing. The point that was made was that dig racing is the only true measure of a cars performance.... which is untrue!! My post was simply to disprove that point.... not to knock dig racing.

Why the name calling. I could call you a f-ing moron because you don't know what a 2-step is.J/K Since this civic is all motor... I don't know why he sits on his 2-step so long... f-ing moron.... LOL In a turbo car you want to stage first because sitting on your 2-step for a few seconds builds boost. Thats the novice way though. A good driver will pre stage... allow the other driver to pre stage. Then get on the 2-step use it to roll forward... yank up the e-brake to stop once you are fully staged... this builds boost even faster because the car is loaded... The lights come down drop the e-brake and off you go. Heres an example of a good driver.

I like the dig BECAUSE you have to fight for traction. In a street race or any race for that matter I don't want the faster car, I want the one that I can get to the finish line first. Not to say that I won't still roll race the random idiot messing with me on the highway, because I will, just saying I think my abilities as a driver should be a contribution to my winning just as much as my ability to own a quick car. And in respect of the trying not to break stuff, 1) If you are that afraid of breaking something maybe you should reconsider racing in any form; running any engine close to redline will certainly not do it any favors, along with the many other things that could break/wear out faster under WOT. 2) Having a M6 car means you are naturally at a high risk for breaking things in your drivetrain, driving a M6 means making the judgement of whether to bang through the gears to gain a few tenths of a sec. or going a little bit easier and trying to maintain the integrity of your drivetrain. Not trying to offend any roll racers just MHO.

Well personally I like both. I'll take whatever is available. However if I had to chose between the 2 I would take roll racing, to keep from breaking stuff.

On the street I prefer low rolls. I'll do a dig, but my 2step is set to accommodate a well prepped surface. On the street I'll blow the tires off from a dig, which usually ends up being lots of wheel hop.

Street = Rolls, but I'll run at the track too.

I agree 100%. And by "your car doesn't work", that can include front wheel drive cars that blow their tires off from a dig because FWD sucks for anything that could consider itself to be a performance car. I did hear, though, that the new Viper will be front wheel drive...oh wait. No it won't.

Then again, 95% of the racing I've done has been from a roll due to circumstances (it being a spur of the moment kinda thing).

Used to be rolls 55 mph and above, but now I prefer from the dig. I know what traction feels like now (Nitto 555r 305 35r18) so I love starting from a dig.

I'll take either. On the streets, it's mostly rolls, at least 90% of the time. But I'll take it to the track too.

Eitherway works for me, as long as it's racing.

dig racing. in my opinion racing is more than who has the faster car but whos the better driver. a roll is cool if its spur of the moment but if its set up dig. and to those who are afraid of dig racing due to your weak 10 bolts maybe you should have though about upgrading your rear before putting 400+ horse to your cars.

I take whatever I get. I never set up races, I putz until someone comes along wanting to race while rolling or at a stoplight.

No need to make fun of you. You're doing an awesome job all by yourself.
