not sure when spinning when you're trying to go straight became cool, but i personally prefer to hook; but thats just me

oh really, my engine is stock with headers, it's just a lightweight car. That's all it takes to make a ls1 fast. We don't need power adders.

Wow. If you really have that much faith in your LS1 then you are ignorant my son.

Did you guys have a good laugh?...actually I speedshifted 3rd then noticed I was about 5 cars ahead and hit the brakes. I know it's not fast but it's relatively fast for the money I've spent, which is not much. Termi, I've owned stock 5.0s and they're quick with a few lil mods, but not like this. But hey, a good driver can make up for some wheezing e7s. It would prolly be a good race.
Dopd Brd, are you my father?....and all this time not knowing....I think I'm gonna cry..lol Nah for real you know what they say, "like father like son."
blk gt you dont like spinning because you have to hook to go fast...pssst thats why you need an lsx.
Isn't it amazing when you start dissing 4.6s how many ford guys come out of the wood works? I can see defending 5.0s, they started all this, but not 4.6's they need help...obviously. Don't get me wrong, I've owned many 5.0s and drove a lot of 4.6's even Cobras...not impressed with 4.6s. I actually wouldn't mind having another 50 just to thrash on.

ive got a little 306, and it hooks great. thanks for your concern. not sure how i was defending mustangs or 4.6s or whatever you think i was trying to do. I wasnt sure why you were happy about not having traction.

The 4.6 is above and beyond what the 302 ever was, except ease/cost of engine modifications. A stock 3V 4.6 makes more power at the wheels than the EFI 302 was ever rated at the crank

"Except ease/cost of engine modifications" thats exactly right. I would take a 5.0 over a 4.6 any day. Atleast here when a 302 pulls next to you @ the track you just don't know what you are going to get simply because of all the mods and cost effectiveness!

I have yet to loose to a stock longblock or H/C/I 302. What ET's you running? People are lazy these days. They just want to throw a power adder on a stock motor and call it a day. My 4.6 doesn't have a power adder and doesn't need one. I'm sure that it would surprise the crap out of you. Just don't sterotype all 4.6's in one category. They're not all slow. -Mark

Sorry, man. I don't remember saying anything about my 92LX being stock. I only said it would be a much closer race than with my Cobra.

I used to think the same thing until I bought my 04 Cobra. It's hard to not be impressed with a forged motor that can handle the power a 4.6 forged 4V can handle.

Yes I did. Hence the term "stock motor".

I'm talking about as far as stock/bolt-ons are concerned. I'm pretty sure my lowly 2V makes just as much (if not more) power than a 302 would with the same mods. And a 3V 4.6 makes as much power stock, than a bolt-on 302. We won't even get into the 4vs. So for the average person, or the person who does bolt-ons only, the 302 is definitely not the superior motor. Is it a cheap/easy motor to work with? Absolutely. But considering you'd at minimum have to buy a twelve year old car to have a 5.0 Mustang, I don't see myself having one anytime in the near future. If my intention was to build a drag racer, I would have bought a notchback. But I wouldn't waste my time with the 302 in that case... 351W all the way
