There are so many 4g63 swapped old looking mirage's to colt's to hyndai elantra's! (sp?). You're not from CT are you? The thing with the mirage is not only is it more than capable with a 4g63 but those cars are very very light, even with an awd swap.

I ran into this car in Orlando, FL. I was down visiting. About hearing a turbo, I couldn't hear anything. It sounded like a stock mirage. So I dont know how anyone would have thought this thing would be as fast as it was. I respect any car that can get it down the track. I dont really like the sound of the weed wackers in those cars either, but if they can lay down at least a 13 second quarter mile then more power to them

Alright, I have a 99 SS M6 with bolt ons. LT's, Off road Y-pipe, borla exhaust, slp lid, msd coils. It dyno tuned at 345 at the wheels. I was cruising around the other day and a stock looking mirage pulled up along side. I had to stop to fuel up, so he pulled in and asked it i wanted to run. I said sure. So we ran from a dead stop once, and I short shifted and didn't use full throttle and pulled a little on him. He pointed to another gas station so we pulled it. I said u wanna race for some $$$$. He said how about 100? So the second time we ran from a stop he pulled quick and I saw nothing but taillights. I couldn't believe what was happening.
When we pulled into the gas station I saw why. He had replaced all the drivetrain in the car with that from a turbo all wheel drive eclipse. It had everything done to it you could imagine. big turbo, dyno tuned, NOS, and alcohol injection. He showed me a timeslip and it read 11.1. Damn, I guess that teaches me to underestimate anyone on the street.

That sucks, just a thought...take the money spent on msd coils and get a cam?

im telling you, this car was almost silent. you couldn't hear anything between shifts either. Must have had the BOV routed back to intake. Im going to go H/C/I here soon, and probably a 100 shot. Next time I am back in his territory ill hit him up. Ill need some tires though, because that AWD rocket took off at the line.

There are several 11 sec dsms that look and sound damn near stock. I know a few of them that still have the stock exhaust out the back, but run an electric cutout at the dp.
So. It doesn't need to sound like muscle to be respected
