A lid gives more than .5-1hp.

Good death. Try to find an ls1 that is stock or that has just a lid or just a catback and see how you do

Well... it came from the factory supercharged, they are capable of 14.2's with a good driver but most people average 14.4's in stock trim.
GM says 205hp and 200tq but countless baseline dynos have shown anywhere from 200whp (generaly 04's, they had a crappy tune and countless problems) on up to 227whp (06+) in stock trim, though the average dyno is somewhere between 210whp and 215whp stock...

only mods ive added are:

ZZP Modular Hub
ZZP 2.8" Pulley
GM Stage 2 Drive Belt
CAI
Lucas 42.5# Injectors
HP Tuners Custom Tune

Ive got just a little over $400 invested into my setup, im pretty happy with it after exhaust, cams and some 10:1 compression pistons i should be able to walk that T/A pretty easily

I really want the GF to get either a Cobalt SS or something similar. But she has her heart set on a SUV.

Meh... cobalts suck lol...

Naw, but in all reality in 09 the cobalt SS is going to have the LNF Turbo ECOTEC... 2.0 with 260hp and 260tq and a 6 speed transmission, should be a nice little runner, i can say one thing, the SRT crowd doesnt stand a chance when that platform comes out... the saturn Astra will be getting the same platform as a redline model and there have been rumors about an AWD option too.

nope... custom fabbed CAI (my own design), the 42.5# injectors were new but i got a good deal on them from a fellow redlineforums.com member, the 2.8" pulley and hub were brand new from ZZP themselves and the HP tune only cost me the price of the credits for my car.
