Beat by Austin Mini :( .. sorta
Some guy who comes to my work every now and then has an old Austin Mini Cooper, british racing green, union jack on the roof. I always noticed how it looked kinda funny, cool, but funny. He has like 10" + wide tires at all four corners and huge fender flares. He asked if he wanted to race after i got off and I said sure, kinda wondering what he's done to his car.
When i got off work we met up at a grocery store and we said we'd do best of three, with $20 on it. We both agreed it was a good deal.
Only problem was... I didn't know you could stuff a 5.0 Mustang engine into an Austin Mini. I dont know how he did it (said something about adding 2 inches to the length of the car...???) but it was rear wheel drive, 5.0 1992 Mustang V8 with all custom exhaust, ORH, and he had GT40 heads, E cam, and MSD ignition and all the little stuff like that.
Anywho I figured his motor was putting out a little less than mine, but i didn't know for sure.
1st race from stoplight = I destroy him off the line and I hit 2nd at 80, and as soon as I shift into third he FLIES past me never to be caught.
2nd race from stoplight = I spin too much in 1st, then bog in 2nd as he's about 3 cars ahead, then he looses the back end and goes a little sideway and lets off, then I catch up and pass him
3rd race on highway = I never had a chance
AND he gave me about a bus length.....
I need some power adders....
Oh yeah, I drive a 2002 Camaro Z28 Convert. 35th Anniversary Edition, 6 Spd. all I have is exhaust

Yeah, the biggest thing I see with Minis is Honda B18C1/5 motor swaps. There is a company that imports them and swaps in those motors (and alot of other modern **** if you so choose). Those are Integra GS-R and Type R motors, for those that don't know

You could not hear the Fox body motor before you raced him??
Honorable "deaths", since that thing probably weighs well under a ton, despite the iron blocked Blue Oval "lump" in the nose!!

he had a super quiet exhaust, kinda just sounded like a sh!tty mini lol, but he had exhaust cut outs and when i heard that (especially cuz i used to own a 5.0 .... i knew something was up)

Sounds like a worthy death.
