No, we learn by finally getting some info. We kill time by quibbling.

The Lingenfelter site shows the 2 levels of 06-08 Z06 upgrades (non-turbo) as:

616 BHP Package
524 RWHP / 486 RWTQ

Click here to view chassis dyno sheet

Scroll down for a video to hear the sound

Includes:

Engine disassembly to allow camshaft replacement Professional degreeing of camshaft and reassembly of engine
Ferrea high performance dual valve springs, titanium retainers & valve locks
Lingenfelter ZO6 GT19 camshaft by Competition Cams Lingenfelter High Flow C6 ZO6 Air Induction & 4" diameter Lingenfelter Mass Air Sensor
Port Matched LS7 intake manifold Ported and polished LS7 throttle body 160 degree thermostat Crank bolt, gaskets & fluids Professional installation, testing & tuning
Chassis dyno report before & after installation Excellent drivability, highway mileage not adversely effected Lingenfelter 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty Lingenfelter certificate of authenticity

These power figures are based on the vehicle having long tube headers on the car when it arrives at LPE. LPE sells and recommends the American Racing Headers $1,695.00 for this application not including installation.

C6 ZO6 LS7 616 BHP package - $5,495.00

NEW upgrade this package to 630 HP

Includes

Engine removal & removal of cylinder heads Lingenfelter full hand porting & polishing of cylinder heads for optimal flow Lingenfelter multi-angle valve job & surfacing for 11.5:1 compression Head gaskets & GM head bolts

C6 ZO6 LS7 630 BHP package - $8,695.00

So I might believe he has the 630FWHP version, and it dynoed an extra 4HP, but no way does he have 634rwhp.

Still a fast car? Yes, but let's keep the numbers sane.

Jim
i dont see how lingenfelter is only pulling out 630 hp with all the work in that package... ive got a buddy who owns a vette shop here in roseville he has a 2007 Z06 =505hp stock but with just some shorties, cam,Tb, and a tune pulled out 635 rwhp with stock heads

honestly i dont know in lingenfelter's case, but they may offer some sort of warranty, so they keep the tune conservative.

and some extra-strong crack to help 'interpret' the numbers.

So a strong 07 Z06 puts down maybe 470rwhp. Your buddy got 165RWHP out of 'shorties, cam, Tb and a tune'? ******* fantasy island ****. Everyone who told that story must have added 25rwhp to it. Next week it will be 780rwhp.

It's bs. your lucky to get much north of 550rwhp without going into the heads.
There's been some to float around 600rwhp. but the "lingenfelter 630" sees about 545rwhp.

lg had what a 620rwhp one? they had to go into the heads for that one.

if your buddy has 635rwhp with just those mods... you better sprinkle some of that crack on your engine, **** would go platinum!

OMFG.

Do you really think Ligenfelter only does set packages? Maybe, just maybe they do custom setups too for high dollar Vettes.

Or like the OP said, maybe theres something more to the story. Like say a 454 LSX bottom end and a custom Ligenfelter head/cam/bolt-ons package.

Welcome to internet land, where based on what you've heard and a couple web store entries you can call BS.

Im glad people expect every race on the street to be documented down to timing advance, lift, and head CFM flow numbers. But reality keeps rearing its ugly head. It's not the OPs fault the guy said what he did.

Honorable death OP, sounds like a helluva Vette.

I thought it was "where every one is a mechanic, and owns a 9 sec car"

OP:

Nice death either way..

Just found something on LG's website: 625rwhp C6 Z06 CAM ONLY. Just for the record...
Link to dyno graph
Not 634rwhp, but pretty close. No head work either.

yup....my buddys 06 C6 Z06 made 556rwhp with a cam/ vararam intake and headers....So i can deff. see 634rwhp on a LS7, without a doubt.

You can customize your own package through Lingenfelter. You are looking at the package deals. The will do anything that you want if you have the $$$.
