Not that bad. What do you think a difference of 3mph would make? Also, we are talking about non-professionals here. The average driver isn't going to push their cars to the limits.

I think it's a drivers' race stock-for-stock against a 9 with the slight lead for the F-body up top.

That's not stock-for-stock, now is it?

I beat a newer evo with the bigger turbo with just intake, exhaust, pulley and TB when i raced one. He had be at first because of brake boosting but as soon as i hit 4th it was like he had it no idea what hit him lol. He had EVERY bolt on as he put it and i still got him by a couple car lengths...this was after my blower was heat soaked from racing a LS1 Bird seconds before i raced him.

They are becoming a problem tho as they get newer and newer....like mitsubishi finally found the second coming of the one thing most domestic owners cant stand because of how stupid fast they can be made....the DSM lol

^It only took 4 freakin years of slow as hell Eclipses with retarded styling for them to realize how big a mistake it was to mess with the formula.

Now there is the driveline again, but the styling never got any better than 2G DSMs LOL. It got a lot worse.

And the X might ruin the whole bit again. Gahh!

Agreed, 2G DSMs are super sexy when done right and attract girls like no other. I heard the EVO X is around 3500lbs, if that is the case it will be slow as ****.

Bone stock a IX with a good driver they can go 13.0 @ 105, at least that what I was able to run in my friends EVO.

the truth is that its very hard to tell what he had done so you will really never know. there are a hand full of cheap mods that can put them into the 11s very easy. on my VIII, which has less power and more weight then an IX, I went very low 12s with just an exhaust, TBE, boost controler and flash.

I was able to do 13.1 @ 104 in a bone stock Evo VIII. Stock for stock, there's not a huge power difference between the VIII and IX, but after you begin modding you can see that the MIVEC and slightly better turbo makes the IX much more bolt-on friendly.

Most of the time, you are correct but some EVO8s mod extremely well right along with a IX.

I used to own a dsm and have nothing against evo's but where do ppl get their info from these days!?

IMO if you have a cam then for him to keep up he prob upped the boost nicely, I'm wondering if he had alchy injection and really bumped the boost or used a bigger turbo, but idk it's not hard for them to make over 300whp, to make close to 400whp they are either using alchy injection to up the boost or have a bigger turbo altogather.

they dont need much @ all especially if it was an EVO 9

my friends put down 402whp on race gas with just turbo-back, intake, boost controller @ 23psi and a kick *** tune (Stock boost is 20psi i beleive...)

on pumpgas he only put down 335whp that would probably put a little more of a hurt on you but id say that guy just had some basic mods.

Race gas for 23psi? He lost 70whp with pump gas? Something seems out of place.

im not sure i know hes running 23psi on race gas. he may be @ stock boost with the pump gas set-up and i think he tuned it very safe on the pump gas tune, I will ask. He is also on stock intercooler.

you probably would have cracked a 12 with some seat time in an IX. Best I did when my VIII was BONE stock was 13.6, lol. Its a little different story now though
