Nope, you didn't. You gave me some idiot that posted on a forum saying that he ran a 12.9x .... without any timeslip, pictures, video, nothing. As I said, bullitt runs 9's ....

And I - like you - agree that not all Mach 1's will be running 12's (just like not all LS1's can run 12's either),
just that it can & has been done...
That's fine, I agree with you on that one. It is by no means a 12 second car from the factory however, it is a low-mid 13 second car that was lucky and had a few factory freaks which broke into the 12's a handful of times. (as you said 10,000 cars ... only a handful of high high high 12's ... you do the math).

For someone who has no interest in the subject, you sure did write a bit about it...
I still have no interest, I just enjoy arguing.

Whatever happened to LS1Tech.com being made up of mostly enthusiasts instead of internet-racing magazine-jockeys? I guess that is only in the Tech Forums and Drag Racing Forums?

In terms of 1/4 mile performance (ET), stock for stock, the Mach is really, really close to the LS1. It does not have the HP of the LS1, thus the generally higher mph for the M6 LS1s. It does, however, have better gearing and similar weight, so a 1/4 mile blast by competent drivers is going to be REALLY close....especially if the LS1 is a T/A (heavy) or high-option Z28 (also heavy).

Relax Gentlemen (and those males that act like little girls).

Also....don't believe in "factory freaks". No such animal.

LS1Tech still consists of enthusiasts. The street racing forum is a bit...ummm, different though.

So I've noticed. I've also noticed Moderators in this Forum deleting posts from those that have a different opinion. Reminds me of LS1.com. That's sad.

What you've noticed is posts being deleted directly attack someone which is against the rules.

Sorry Bob...didn't mean to edit that post. I hit the "edit" button instead of "reply".

No problem - we all make mistakes.

You'll forgive me for having a different opinion. I see examples that are no worse than what you edited/deleted. Also, I think you could probably go back and find where Tony Nineball prides this site (rightly so) on not doing such things. Perhaps this has changed? I don't know. It doesn't help knowing your opinion of Mach 1's (a "joke" and "not competition" if memory serves). Just makes things smell funny.

No offense intended.

Funny thing is, he leaves all the insults directed at me...

...and deletes all his own posts that make him look bad...

No problem at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion right? Mine is that I dislike Mach 1's. Big deal. It's just a car.

There are examples that go un-moderated of course. What you've seen are a few members here that post specifically to cause trouble, aka trolling. You know what I'm referring to Bob.

PM me if you want to discuss further.

The Mach 1 stuff:

4.6 4v DOHC V8-factory rated at 305 bhp 320 ft-lbs torque
(the engine is an aluminum block and shares the same heads as the 03 Cobra but has no supercharger.)
The functional shaker scoop.

Live rear axel.

unique wheels, revised suspension, slightly lowered compared to GT, chrome rolled exhaust tips, choice of 5 spd or automatic.

has a unique interior, the cpillars are also slightly different than the GT. All Mach 1s have a flat black rear spoiler--just like the old Mach 1s. Hood stripe and side stripes that read Mach 1. Mach 1 badge on the rear. The front seats have increased bolstering and "comfort weave" leather on all seats. The old Mach 1s had comfort weave seats that look very similar. Front chin spoiler that is black, like on the old Mach 1s.

The Mach 1 was released as a special edition Heritage vehicle. It performs far better than the GT and has unique "Heritage" styling cues from the old Mach 1s. It isn't just a sticker job.

all the info you want including a lot of real people's times:

With a bunch of Bolt-on's & drag radials ive managed a few 12.5's with my Mach1.. With just drag radials & Exhaust i tossed out a few passes at 12.8's & 12.9's.. I think i read Paul Svinicky can pummel a stock Mach1 to a 12.9 (pro driver).. Here is a slip with most of my bolt-ons, of which most appeared to be cosmetic in nature only
