Default Mustang slayed by daily driver

My girlfriend lives in the city, on western, so im on my way to drop her off in my 2000 trans am, that i bought to get me through the winter because my camaro was a little too much to try and handle, plus its alot nicer, and much more money invester.
I pull up to a light, traffic everywhere, when i see a fox body fly into the turn lane the second the light goes green and punch it. His tires spin, and he takes off. Naturally, regardless of the car im in i mash the gas and catch up...theres a mustang kill to be had.
As we roll up near him, already doing ten over (40mph in 30mph zone) i see a boost and vacuum gauge on the Apillar. I get ready to honk, and the red fox body instead just decides to punch it. A supercharger screams and he takes off. I Hit it, and to my surprise, and much the frustration of the two guys in the stang, gain on them, and end up passing them before 70mph.

Beat a supercharger fox body in a bone stock, 2000 trans am. And beat him when he got the jump on me none the less. But the best thing about it was, when he caught up at the light, he had the nerve to ask my girlfriend what she was doing tonight.
her response? "laughing at your ***, cause not only do you drive a mustang, you lost to HIS (talking about me) slow car."

all in all, was a good night

How did you hear the supercharger scream? Was it a twin screw or something?

I believe you but damn shouldnt a blown V8 be fast no matter what? Also I thought a healthy stock 5.0 is like 14.4's with a good driver.

Do you know if it was auto or not? That would make an enormous difference because of the slushbox AOD auto. good kill nonetheless.

I know it was supercharged, i can hear the blower whine. It looked to be a 91. The car definitely looked to havde some miles on it.
I have raced a few supercharged fox's, even when my z28 was stock (that was so long ago) and won, if only by half a car.

I was in the city, not too far from downtown chicago, but not in the greatest or most wealthy neighborhoods, so im sure the car was a little run down. It was a manual, because he downshifted as i pulled up next to him, and i saw the shoulder movements and such....also no brake lights at the stop light.

i just wish i had my Z, comes back decemeber 15th. 557 rwhp, instead of a little under 300 like my T/A....would have made things a little more amusing for me.

i dont know, was wondering the same thing, why a ford guy would compliment me. i guess its because i can respect any muscle car thats been done right. You can do a camaro wrong, or a mustang wrong.
but if you do either right, there's no denying it can be a very fast car. theres a mustang around here i would never dare race....well not yet
twin turbo, 4.6L 2004 mustang GT. Looks bone stock on the outside except for the front fascia is slighty opened up for the intercooler.

Any car with the wrong combination is going to be slow...Nice kill. Maybe next time he should do alittle more researching.

Yeah, he's the one with the bone stock LT1 automatic (?) that walked by a 5spd S197 GT from a roll after the GT got the jump.
