Well I was out in my talon testing out the new transmission (old one 2nd gear was gone) So I'm out testing and roll into safeway the local "hangout". Theres a civic si, a 3rd gen eclipse, my friend in his 92 Fox, and a 96(I think) cobra. So we all go out and line up on the highway.

First race was me and the Civic, who by the way thought he was hot **** and thought he could take my friends Fox, so we decided to race first so we didnt waste his gas. So we go froma 40 roll and I LOVE HAVING 2ND GEAR. Pulled him by 5-6 cars. He gets pissy and wants to race again. So we go from a 60 roll and this time I pull 6-7 cause the top end on his car apparently blows. So I line up with the 3rd gen eclipse thats all riced out and run him at the same mph with the same results.


So I line up with the 96 and start cranking up the boost just to make sure and we go from around 50 which isn't the best place for the talon we go and he gets a slight lead to begin with, the after what seems like an eternity the turbo spools and I slowly start to reel him in. At about 115 I was about a half car ahead. So we get off the highway and decided to go from a dig. Now I'm still trying to get used launching an awd car. So we launch and surprisingly I just ahead buy 2 cars, and just keep pulling, by 70 I'm 4-5 cars away.

Finally I line up with my friend in the fox from a dig and the last time we did this it was dead even, mind you I didn't have 2nd. So we line up and it was the exact same result as the Cobra. I was quite proud of my little 4 banger. So he gets all pissy and wants to go from a roll, so we go from a 40 roll and I mis shift into 5th from 2nd and am down by like 7 cars. So we line up again and this time I get my shifts right and pull him about 4 cars upto 90.

So I start thinking I'm pushing my luck with a new tranny and don't want to blow it up after just getting it in so I go home and get the Firehawk, which by the way is acting up. So I'm roaming around the city and getting bored and I see some taillights going up the street and I decide to follow. I finally catch up at the next light and see that it's an older r32 golf with some mods, so we just kinda start off slow and I start to hear his turbo spool going for the ricer fly by and I'm thinking HELL NO, so I shift into 2nd and get on it, now 3rd has been grinding when I try to put it in so I'm just praying that it will go in, and IT DOES so I just keep pulling away we play around until we stop a few lights down and I roll down the window and say nice car he nods and says yea but I like yours better those r32's are quick little bastards.

Yea it keeps up with the firehawk...while its spinning. Most of the time tho it's only 4-5 lengths behind it.

I wish I could but my brothers video camera for some reason is being gay so I can't get many. Maybe I should get one for Christmas

 

Please get dsmlink, my car had about the same amount of mods as yours and would get smashed by my friends ls1 cars and then I got dsmlink and I could easily beat stock ls1 cars. If your running anymore than stock boost then you are really not getting the full potential of your car without a good tuning program, I guarantee that you could outrun your firehawk with dsmlink. Sorry for the rant.

I'm actually getting dsmlink in a couple days, just need to get a socketed eprom and the hookup, and find a place to dl it online lol
