Cts V??? I saw a CTS-V and paced him for a little bit. Doing about 40 I see his front end lift (couldn't hear it over my car) so I dropped it in 2nd and almost instantly blew by him like he was going backwards. I slow down and let him have a jump and again I fly by like he is going backwards. Now I am wondering if he was just punching it and letting off or if they are that slow. They can't be much heavier than my Vert. O well it's a cheap kill if nothing else.

you have to remember that there are a lot of older gentleman and ladies (yeah I said the same thing 
when I saw three of them) driving these cars. I would not call it a kill if there was a ricer flyby 
. They are not that slow. And you have some mods.

I didn't say they were slow. I've hooked up with a modded one and that thing was pretty quick, I got it by a half a car but I think that was just driving ability. I have never raced a stock one and I was just a little surprised by the outcome so I just wanted some opinions. If he punched it and let off then thats cool but he did it twice so I was just wondering if the consensus was he let off or if my car is that much faster. 
Yeah, he wasn't racing. They come with either the LS6 or the LS2 depending on year and they weigh about the same as a GTO. They also perform very comparably with the new GTOs. Mid to low 13s at 106-109 or so depending on year and driver. You may beat a stock one, but you wouldn't pull one like crazy from a roll.
