Default Bolton Ls1 V. turbo gsr Honda

Well I was just-a cruising around in my Beater when I came across an old friend in a turbo GSR. He said "hi" and I courteously replied hello back, after which he informed that he just had his motor built and he was finally ready for ole rusty as I like to call her.

We leave from our aforementioned meeting place and I follow him to his insanely long prive peice of driveway, because we all know racing on public roads is illegal and of course stupid.

His drive is really quite impressive; over a mile long, more than 2 lanes wide, and straight as an arrow.

1st run I down shift to second, and because ole rusty is so damn loud he mistakes it as me going and he takes off. I follow suit and start to reel him as I approach the middle of 3rd, he lets off about 1/2 car out still. He is brimming with confidence at this point, so I let him enjoy his "win" and don't tell him I gave him almost a 2 car hit. What a gentleman I am!

2nd run I am in first at aboot 25, as is he. I let him signal it and we are off, however, this time the outcomeis a little different. My beefy 346 out torques this honda and I put about a car on him before the 1-2 shift. I slam the hell out of 2nd and put maybe another 1/2 car on hiim. Thru 2nd I put maybe another car on him and shift to 3rd and hes losing ground so I let off.

All in all they were some good races, both thoroughly enjoyed and rematches will be called for and, god willing, wil be taped.

Hope you enjoyed m'story.

His car his a built motor turbo gsr running 10lbs I beleive, he needs to get it tuned for more boost and I have some of my own mods awaiting install so the rematch should be a squshbuckler.

Cheers!

Yeah, need to know what size turbo he has on that thing.

However I can tell you almost without a doubt that he was spinning through 1-2 lol.

A built GS-R on 10lbs? WTF? My friend was running well over 15lbs on a stock LS.....which held dead heat with my car from a 20 roll.....if he's built, just be careful once he ups the boost.....

Well when your car is 2650lbs, has 4.40 gears, open-differential, and you launch at 4,000rpm+, and then you add a TURBO... it's a pretty good guess that it was spin-city.

Makes me want to swap a 455 olds motor into my 79 olds toronado!

I fail to see how bagging on FWD requires a ricer gauge.

Hondas with turbos will spin like no tommorow in most cases even at relatively low power levels. Its not "becuse he lost" its just a fact.

It would be interesting to expirience wheel-spin while doing mundane day to day things like parralel parking, pulling out of the driveway, looking at the car from 50 feet away with the keys in your pocket, etc.

"Dont worry folks, thats totaly normal..."

The turbo is a t3/t4e, he has DR's with an ctr lsd.

I don't know why you honda guys are upset, I didn't bash any hondas......he just lost bc his car is slower. DEAL WITH IT.

For those of you honda defenders who think he would pull me on the top end, think again; we ran all the way up to 130 last night and it wasnt even close.

Also my car is a stripper, so im only 3200 lbs and with mods in sig ran 12.90's @110 in a 3850 DA. The DA when we ran was -1500 fyi, although I sure that helped him too.

When he ups the boost I will spray him, and that will be that.

Thanks for reading.

Nice kill. Can't wait to see the race with the tuned/upped boost GS-R against your 100 shot. Get a video!

Thanks guy, vid will definitely be taken on the next race so long as we can find someone with a camera/willing to shoot edit it. And I will try to get him to go from a deeeg, since I gave him the race he wanted this time.

Also I forgot to mention I had a passenger and he was solo.

I don't see where anybody was getting upset, or any "honda guys." You both have very quick cars, and your's just happens to be faster.

I think he was upset that it sounded like someone was trying to discredit the win or say the GS-R was the faster car, it just didn't have traction.
