02 C5 coupe vs. 300Z TT

yes true. also you have to look at it from my point of view. I don't have alot of money so I was looking for a turbo car that was around 5-10k and looked good that I could make a little faster and be happy with it. But 350-400hp does not feel the same anymore so more mods I will need.
They are hard to work on but you get used to it and after a while it's not that scary anymore. They are good motors if taken care of will last 250,000+ miles and can be modded upto 600hp on stock block.

Out of curiosity what did you pay for your 300? I regret selling mine every day. It wasn't as fast as my other cars but damn I loved that car.

Why do you try so hard in every post I see to discredit every car that isn't GM? I understand preferences and whatnot, but 300ZXs are still cool cars regardless of whether or not an LS1 F-body runs a couple tenths quicker
Edit: And since when is intake/exhaust/intercooler piping/boost controller not "a few bolt-ons?" Does "a few" mean 3 specifically?

Lol I never discredited any car. I do however support GM over any other brand. As far as the value and performance of most of their "better" cars, why not? Z06 is for sure the best value sports car in the world! All with the LSX... Don't hate just because you drive a 2V mustang GT. Hell, that's a cool car too, right?
Every car is different, but please. Full bolt ons not hitting 12s?
Drag radials and cat back easily puts LS1s in the 12s.

I've always liked the 300ZX TT. The only 2 I've seen at the drag strip (Union Grove in WI and Sacramento) were both running 12s. In WI that was in the mid '90s.
I decided on a Supra TT instead - I thought they were better/faster overall with timeless styling vs. the 300ZX being a bit dated, not aging as well or as reliable.
The last commercial they had for them with the Van Halen song and the dolls was pretty cool though.

supra is a better car the the 300zx no doubt, but it may not be justified with the price difference (upwards of 20k) 1 1/2 supra's = c6 z06. And as far as the injectors go, no there is no other route, the injectors are side feed, not top feed, and it seems they only used them in the 90-94 years, the 95-96 years had a better lower intake manifold to accompany bigger injectors (740cc) over the stock 370cc, which max out at around 350 rwhp. The general consensus on the 300zx forums is you dont run over 12-13 psi on stock inectors, although i ran 14, which isnt much higher and was still at a relatively safe a/f ratio. As far as working on them, i'd say theyre on par in the pain-in-the-*** factor as my camaro, **** for the downpipes you have to take a 12mm open end wrench and cut it in half, and at points use a breaker bar on it. talk about a headache.

Yeah those dowmpipes do suck it's worse on a auto less room to turn the wrench I got like 1-2 degree turn on the top nut took for ever.

Got to agree with you ****, it shouldn't matter what kinda car you got, it's what u put in it that matters. Some cars might look like a piece of ****, but can actually kick your ***. All I gotta say is that you and Natie need a rematch!

Yeah mine was a 5 speed. I bought it in late 1997. Saved for two years while I was in college to get it. Paid $9000 for it at the time.
I completely disagree with the post about the styling of the Supra being timeless and the 300ZX being supbar. Its all subjective ofcourse but to me both are on par with one another in the styling department.

Anyways 300ZX's are capable of twelves with a few mods as well, average? Nope, but possible? Definetly.

They have a slightly dated look, like a C4. C5s and Supras still look modern, almost timeless.
My GF thinks I'm nuts, but put a Prancing Horse badge on a red Supra and it looks like it could be in the Ferrari family.

Well they just stopped making c5's like what, 4 years ago? So that really is a moot point, But remember, the 300ZX was designed and released in the 1980's.

When production ended has nothing to do with it. It's how the styling holds up. The Supra came out in the '93 model year. Even the Z-28 has aged pretty well.

I think the styling is holding up fine here are some pics and vids I like
