Default 02 C5 coupe vs. 300Z TT

I was driving home from the gym a few nights ago and I notice this Nissan 300Z pull into traffic in front of me. When he saw me he hauled *** and broke his rear ires loose. I ignored him, it looked stock(easy kill for me) and there was traffic. We got a few red light and he was always next to me so I waited for after a certain light where I knew we would have a good straight. We both speeded up to beat the yellow light and I heard his turbo so I said, "better get ready". I let him catch up and when he did I floored it and pulled on him by about three cars and let off. He was done. TYhe guy gave me a thumbs up and went home. All I got is a catback, tune, and intake.

I wouldn't say they are "dogs," especially compared to what YOUR car was like when it was stock . Remember that those cars were made starting in 1990. They were quite competitive with the other cars that were around back then, and even clear through 1996 (their last year of production). Your buddy has a very nice car, regardless of how bad your car beat him.

My first sports car was a 1991 300zx Twin Turbo. It was an automatic and I got my *** handed to me many by a stock 1995 M3. Its 0-60 in the for the 300zx TT was 7 seconds...so there not as fast as many people think they are. Also..the automatics had less horsepower..I believe 275. But of course they can be modded to be crazy fast.

Yeah, they came with turbo's. This guys sounded a little more modded, could be just exhaust. He was coming up to me with speed from behind so he had momentum. I was hoping to reel him in, its more fun, but i just killed him anyway. Torque baby, torque!

Nice murder!

Am I the only one that noticed the word "speeded" in his story?

Sounds like a decent race, but....

Well which is it?

It is nearly impossible to hear the turbos unless he has a complete exhaust.

Dogs they are not. They are not drag cars though either.

Automatics come with 280HP due to smaller exhaust compressors and cams. I would think a former owner of such a car would know at least a few basic statistics such as the horespower.

I said he "looked stock" from a distance but with my radio on I didnt really hear him till he was close and got on it. Still, easy kill.

Yeah, they came from the factory with little turbos on there to give people that 'seat of the pants' push. Unfortunately, after that push was over, there was very little left to give. They do mod up nice though, and I always liked their look when stuffed with some decent wheels/tires.

They make 300 HP at 6500 RPM's....I wouldn't exactly say they have little left to give. Unlike the godly LT1 Corvette of the same generation.

Sounds like a shitty driver to me, considering my BONE STOCK Integra ran 14.97 @ 93.82mph best. And a 300ZX twin turbo is a good deal faster than an Integra GS-R.

Thats because you had an AUTOMATIC. 7.0s 0-60???? Not quite. More like 5.0-5.8 for the sticks. I owned a 90 TT with boltons for 4 years. Stock, they are comparable to an LT1 F-body.

Tell your buddy to sell his car because he obviously doesn't know how to drive or maintain it it properly.
