But really you have to know the car especially when your roll racing my 2nd gear goes up to 90 mph now so I can really get froggy with it from a freeway roll!
What gears do you have??

I feel that me car does best in 2nd @ 60mph. I have a cam, springs, and shift around 6500 though. 55 is probably good for stock. You'll want to rev-match when you do this.

I marked my speedo with lil tags to learn where all the gears end and i ended up finding the tags useful for roll racing. hahaha

Also a shift light will help ALOT. That way you can pay attention to the road and not the tach.

I remember when i first got my m6 camaro. the first time i took a buddy for a ride we was cruising along and i was banging the gears hard.. we hit 2nd at around 45 or so the car came sideways ..when we hit third the car came a lil sideways again.. but the main thing i remember when we hit 4th gear we was running 105 and the car came sideways again.. the roads were cold but still nothing will pucker up your butthole like a car coming sideways at 105 mph.. soo just take your time and get a good feel for your car..

to rev-match, think of how high your rpms would be if you were doing 60 in 2nd gear. then when you go to downshift into 2nd hit the gas and bring the rpms all the way up to that speed before you let off the clutch. or else you will really slow down the engine and probably burn up some clutch. it is hard to perfect but you'll get better with practice.

Here is what i say..

watch were u are when u shift up... this will let u know where to be .OR where to be BELOW when downshifting.. my car stock 3.42 gear loves 55 in 2nd.. its kinda high but .. 50 is perfect.. now 3rd would be no slower then 65ish.. then u should pull good in 3rd..

anyway thats how wi figured out where to downshift.. hope it helps

i just remember it as: 1st goes to 45mph, 2nd goes to 70, 3rd goes to 100, and 4th goes to 130. that's with M6 3.42s. those speeds are pretty easy to remember for me, so it's easy to pick a gear.

EDIT: ... and 5th goes to 170 and 6th goes to 250! haha

If all else fails downshift to 2nd at 60. Do not put it in 3rd at 60. I found this out the hard way. The RPM's are too low and you'll get walked
Yep Yep
