Beat a 99ish Cobra in my LT1

I know i cant in all likely hood beat an 03 cobra from a roll but at the strip ive raced two non pullied cobras abd beat both, albeat one had major traction issues and the other couldnt drive...but still in the 1/8 mile i could still beat one....and from a roll in my bolt on/geared/tuned Formula(3550RW) i could stay withing 1-2 cars of an average driver in a termy....and maybe even edge one out up until 100 from a slow roll

Just the 03-04's because of the more weight mostly due to the rear independent suspension, and even that can be removed.
The new GT500's do have some trouble backing up thier numbers at the track, and you have to admit the price for performance isn't the best.
Im not picking on Cobra's, I'm a big fan and I've always wanted an 03-04 Cobra.
A college friend of mine had one in this dark grsy color and Im no fan of dark grays but this baby looked nice.
But when people who own these cars talk like they are the greatest thing on earth and nothing can touch them, it tends to get annoying.
Its also annoying when they shun my old LT1.
And as far as my car's times, its much faster then you think its not

So how fast is that? Looking at the mods you list on your page....
Exterior Modifications:
-Lund Turn Signal Blackouts (no power here)
-Lund Tail Light Blackouts (here either)
-Square Polished Aluminum Exhaust Tips (ditto)
-VFN Sunoco Hood (x4 - perhaps a bit of weight loss?)
-17X9.5 GM ZR1's wrapped in 275/40 Falken 452's (oops - gained the weight back)
Interior Modifications:
N/A
Performance:
-Moroso Cold Air Intake (ah...theres a couple of ponies)
-Ceramic Coated Polished Aluminum Trick Flow Elbow (the bling of the bunch)
-SLP Loudmouth (makes more noise)
Suspension/Chassis:
-1LE Springs (not much 1/4 mile gain here)
-New DeCarbon Shocks (stock replacements?)
Drivetrain:
N/A
Electronics:
-Pioneer 7500MP (got boom boom!)
-New Infinity door speakers coming soon (got improved boom boom!)
....I don't see much to get real excited about, performance wise. Have you ever taken this car to the track?
My guess is a solid 13.9 car. Gotta agree that it looks good, though.

I like how you say the intake, elbow and catback do nothing for performance when GM Performance mag put a Thunder Racing package on a 94 Formula (K&N Intake, airfoil and Magnaflow Catback) and got 18 more rwhp and went from 14.1's to 13.8's.

And my car ran a 13.89 @ 99 with only a K&N Filter, new 245/50 Goodyear GTII's and Mobil 1 when I first got it.
Nice way to brake down my car and quote my entire fquick, something I haven't updated since I made the account.

I am very content with its performance and don't really give a **** to mod the crap out of it until I have my own place and I am on the downhill side of my college loans.
And btw, Ive owned an M6 LS1 car before.
But thanks for being a complete *****, putting down my car and trying to make me feel bad.
Its been 100% paid for since I got it, and when I feel like digging into the motor I will.
It just runs too good and I have too many other things to worry about then what some little internet raceboy thinks about my LT1, and how fast he "thinks" it is based on his shallow close-minded view.
And most of all, I could care less what some ******* named 'Bob Cosby' on LS1tech thinks.

I'm not trying to add fuel to the first, but haven't you called my car "slow" on a couple occasions? I'd say my car is more than capable of equaling or bettering your numbers. And my car has been 100% paid for since the day I got it too.

Actually a well driven 01 Cobra can trap 105 stock I've seen it. The Mach 1's are defnitely quicker but from a roll it's close.

Its very common for 290-310 rwhp LT1's to run low 13, high 12 second times.
You don't think thats enough to run with a stock 03-04 Cobra?
No I haven't called your car slow, I just think 2V GT's are slow in general. I've drove a 01' 5-Speed GT on a 3 hour trip, and I've rode in a 00 Auto.
Secondly, congrats on maybe beating my nearly stock 95 LT1 car with your 'numbers'.
Thirdly, congrats on paying her off.
And what are you even doing posting "not to add fuel to the fire" and come in here with "my numbers and you think my car is slow BS"?

Cobra's are slow for the power they put down
GTO's and Cobra are fast cars overall, but slower then other cars with equal HP because they weigh a little more. There is nothing wrong with that, considering they both come loaded with features, options and IRS suspensions.

so i guess hondas, geo metros, and pintos are fast cars. if you give them the same power as something else, theyre most likely going to be faster. either way, it was implied that they were slow, whether it be "for the power they put down" or what.

For what it is, that Cobra was a fast car and it takes a hell of a lot
of knowledge to win a NMRA race...let alone the entire series.
