I have seen several threads where people are asking questions about newer mustangs in particular. I get the idea that most of the LS1 street crowd (including myself) don't know what we're looking at half the time. This could be solved by visiting some mustang forums but why not put up some info here? I would have to resist starting fights if I visited a ford forum.
haha thanks, and thats not a bad idea. good to see an open minded lsx owner out there lol.

Being an LS1 owner, I'm glad I never subscribed to the Mustang bashing myself - my wife and I bought one recently, and the car is the heat. It definitely didn't feel like home sitting in it, but it felt "right". Maybe the interior design of the S197 over the previous Edge gen. helped, but coming from a shitty interior in the Z anyway...

It may never muster up the numbers my 4-year-older Z can, but the car has an attitude and presence of its own.

Back to the OP, anything less than a stage 3 is a safe kill. Stage 1s are appearance only, stage 2s are appearance and suspension. The stage 3s come supercharged, so be careful with those.

I was actually on one of the largest Mustang forums on the net the other day, and I noticed they have a sticky at the top of their kill section with a FAQ about LSX motors.

A member started the thread and a lot of knowledgable LSX guys have added. It's an interesting read if you have some spare time on your hands.

Yea, lots of misinformation about the differences in LS1 model cars led to that sticky. Just can't seem to get some ppl to understand that an LS1 is still an LS1......regardless of whether its in a GTO, a Vette, or a Camaro. JD1969 (section moderator an owner of a stout LS1 Camaro) tries his best to direct ppl to that sticky whenever arguments arise over this subject.

Default heh funny

their is a roush stang here 07. and every is deathly afraid of it. and i try to tell them. dont let the looks scare you. it winds up being a slower car because like someone else said the side exhaust is actually more restrictive and from what ive seen on spec charts their also heavier.

they do look nice wouldnt mind having one.

Just for some added info.....the 05+ Roushes do not come with side exhaust. They have square tipped rear exhaust like normal. I believe the older body style Roushes (pre 05's) have the side exhaust.

I think FMX and brian are right, us Mustang guys need to put together a sticky detailing all of the official Mustang trim levels and models so you GM guys know what you're looking at on the streets.

If it has the GT emblem on the back it is a Roush mustang sport.

This may be a relatively old thread, but I am all for this idea.

I was actaully refering that comment to the poster of the other thread who had the FastestCarInTheWorld name and then had a picture of the new GTR for his avatar. But you got any pics of the 65 i would love to see some.

you shouldnt have anything to worry about in straightline racing but he'd probably whoop you on a road course "time attack"
