It wasn't the other Josh was it? And at the end of a dead end road? If it was you will never convince him his blue oval is inferior even by beating him. And next time I'll bet money he will spray.

Hay OP do you have some pretty good runs over there? I'm only about 40 min. away if its worth the trip I could bring a few others with me too Gator (yellowsierra) has got a 438whp Goat and a TT LS1 truck (which probably wouldn't be necessary) and Brandt (blackbird 39) has got a STI that makes about 360 at all four corners. We don't really have a good place to run over here so it would be nice to have a good place to run and some other cars to run.

What he said. There's no way I would have gotten anything less than an '05 GT for my wife ..and myself.. because I have an LS1. I actually think the GT falls a tad short on the top-end (could just be me) but in the hands of a capable driver, I can definitely see the GT keeping up for majority of the run.

damn, must have been an unhealthy camaro. I have never had any problems with 05+ stangs and I have raced dozens...literally, there all over the place. At the track I have seen atleast 50stockers run and 40 of the 50 barely get past a 13.9. I ran a manual 05 gt just a week ago a few times from a dig and he was murdered and he launched perfectly by 80 I had 4 lenghts and was still pulling, he took it to the track and ran a 13.7. It was new with about 2000 miles on it. I also ran him from a 20 roll and a 60 roll and it seems that when those cars hit 70 they seem to slow the hell down but they do hold close until 70. Raced also plenty of roush stage 1 and 2 and shelbt gt-h and shelby -gt's and the outcome seems always the same. So stock for stock I would say an ls1 is 4-5 cars faster. Stock I ran 13.2 - 13 flats all day. With the cutout and lid and kdws my best is a 12.8 in my A4

Looking at this statement I would on the surface call BS also. But I would want clarification as to what else was done before I just assumed it was the stock 302 with bolt ons. Sooo.... Clear it up for us.
Standing by with BS flag just in case.
