so i finally got my ls1 car in the beginning of Dec. when i bought the car i had a bad crankshaft sensor, so my car would sputter and backfire then cut off...so i pulled up to where everyone hangs out the night i got my car and there sat the white GT that has "White Lightning" on the windshield (HOMO)..he proceeded to beg me to race and wouldnt let up, then i told him that i couldnt cuz of the sensor, so he started saying a bunch of crap to everybody there and that the sensor had nothing to do with it....long story short i got it fixed, so we went to our 1/4 mile....got to the line and he had to get his tires "warm" he burnt them off for probably 30 seconds and i knew that it just makes street tires a little greasy so i just sat there and watched...we pulled even to the line and off we went, or at least i went...i hit 120 something (its a slight downhill 1/4) and then let off, looked back and had at least 4 & 1/2 lengths easily...hes got from what i know, exhaust and some other little things, o and of course the 50 hp stickers..o and afterwards he said that he slipped 1st gear, can nebody tell me what slipping first gear on a launch is? please? to the other race...went to the next town over and did the same thing on the four lane..i love GM

prolly just means he didn't dump it or he rode the clutch just a little...both tactics used to get traction on crappy street tires. He would have been better off lowering the tire pressure to about 25psi and spinning them over 1 good time. Roasting street tires is pointless.

A bolton/geared 99+ 5spd GT is more than capable of running with an LS1 in the 1/4... it's just going to trap lower (depending on year,of course), which makes it not-so-nice from a roll. And it also depends on the LS1. But yeah OP, the driver in question seems like a tool. Good kill
