A friend just picked up one of these. Nice car and all but what a slug! It can barely chirp the tires. My old Bullitt felt faster and my Z28, even when it was stock, would smoke that thing with ease.

I only have 360 at the tire so if Mr. 364 guy wants to line them up he can have 2 cars. Mine is a vert too so its a pig weight wise. I raced a GT/CS and he had CAI and headers. It wasn't pretty for him. Lets just say there were at least a bus length between us and that is being nice. Anywho I smell some BS in the claim of 364 WHP with just bolt ons and a tune.

what ******' gets me about it is that there are so damn many of these things runnin around, and nothing really stands out with these s197 other than roush* and the GT500.
everything else is minimal HP gains, fake scoops and badges. screw that crap, make another mach1. a lightweight SVT cobra, not a shelby pig500.

i love 3.73
what i have, of course im running 12bolt and alot of power through it, but i raced a 98Z from a dig and only launched on 2400rpm of a possible 4000, and by 60mph had him by 9 car lengths.
he wasnt stock either, auto, shift kit, 125 shot, DR's, lid, longtubes cut outs open, and small cam.
his no stall and no gear = rape

yeah, im gonna lie about that, just because? hell no, chicago is damn cold out, and he didnt heat his tires, and was running on 275's, not 315's like i was. all that traction difference, him having no stall or gear, whats so hard to believe? i hooked, he didnt...bingo.

Nine F-body car lengths is ~144 ft. It shouldn't take you much more than that to GET to 60 mph - especially if you hooked as you said.
I think the other guy probably forgot to step on the gas. Or maybe he was doing his burnout while you were racing? Or maybe you meant nine 1/24th scale model car lengths? That would be believeable.

whats funny is that y'all call bs on the 364 horse comment(i agree with y'all) and let this nonsense go by unscathed. i mean come on, 9 car lengths by 60 mph against a cammed ls1 with a 125 shot. i don't think so, unless he was parked AND didn't realize there was a race happening.

clearly stated in one of my posts he did not heat his tires, hence no burnout. could it just be i came up against an in-experienced buddy of mine, who doesnt know how to launch a car when its cold out?
and of course the figures werent exact, at night, just one other car and i, how could nine be the certain number, coulda been 7-9, how the hell would i know exact? it was a slaughter, and all because i hooked. anyone who races/have raced in cold, cold weathe knows that this story doesnt seem as implausible as it sounds.
at the least the cars getting painted as of now til the end of march, so no more kill stories i have to defend like this.
