Default Ran a stock 07 350Z tonight.

I ran a stock 07 350Z tonight. Guy is part of the car scene here. My car is basically stock with just a lid. We went from a 40 roll in 2nd and I pulled him two cars up to 120 with a passenger.

Very nice. I was curious to see how a stock Fbody would do against an 07 Z because I hear the 07s are the ones to watch out for. I guess not.

Thats what I keep hearing too. Truth seems to indicate your more likely to see a Sasquatch in Haiwaii than see an 07 Fairlady hang with an LS1.

Ohh the 07's are the one's to watch out for. There was a guy I met at gainsville this weekend that ran 13.3's in his bone stock car. That is almost par with alot of ls1's. The mph was lower than the ls1 cars though

Good run, but since when is 2 cars from 40-120mph not close? The '07s are very much competition for an LS1. I'd put them on par with the average Mach 1 5spd.

Yeah they are known to go 13s but the problem is that a lot of people just don't know how to drive them.

Well a friend of mine in his '07 350Z happens to have the fastest E.T. and mph stock. He goes by "VeeTec" on all the forums. His best E.T. is 13.1 and mph 107. They're definitely a force to be reckoned with a good driver.

Here's there 1/4 list. Scroll to the bottom and it'll show you stock '07 times:

sounds a lot faster than an avg mach 1 5spd

That's the fastest time ever recorded for a stock 350Z... fastest time for a Mach 1 is a 13.0 I believe bone stock. On average the '07 350Zs are low-mid 13s cars, which puts them on par with a 5spd Mach 1

Have you seen some of the races on this forum. When they are neck and neck or only have a fender that is close.

Sounds to me like he walked him up to 120.

Good kill!

Yeah "VeeTec" is what I would call an above average driver though because that night he hit 13.1 there was another stock '07 Z there and he could only manage mid 13's all night. Also they're underrated.

They're advertised at 306 hp but guys have been dynoing at 289 rwhp+ which puts them around 320-330 hp.

Yeah i heard if you raced them from a dig it is a pretty good race, but ONLY from a dig. Otherwise, the LS1 will eat it all up from a roll. But of course i'm sure everybody knew this Good kill!!

And pretty much on par with the LS1s. .2 or .3 doesn't make a huge difference. Pretty much a driver's race.

Hate to say it but depends on the LS1. I have a LS1 GTO A4 with a few minor mods and a friend of mine with a '07 Z 6 spd slowly pulls away from me on the second half of the track. An LS1 would not win by much from a roll imo from what I've seen. I mean my friend's stock Z has trapped as high as 107 how much better is an LS1 F-Bod gonna trap??

That is why it is a drivers race. My friend had a M6 LS1 GTO with minor mods and ran high 12's. You are comparing a A4 GTO to a M6 350Z, not a fair comparison and not even close to comparing a M6 F-body to a 350Z M6. GTO's are a a couple to a few tenths slower than a similar F-body due to weight. Anything with a few tenths is a drivers race. 13.1 is the best listed for a 350Z, and M6 Z28's have run 12.8x. With equal drivers the Z would win, but the same guy cant drive both cars at the same time, so it is a drivers race with a slight edge to the Z28/LS1.

Also, trap speed isnt everything, although it is a decent indicator of power. Stock LS1's have trapped 108, but the ET is what matters- that is the total package.

Good race to the OP by the way.

I raced around with an 07 350z, it didn't seem like anything special to me.
