screw that puttin headers on any mod motor sucks in the worst kinda way. if they ever really hinder my performance ill change them but in the mean time ill use the good ol saying. F*ck it run it.

then i had to remove the k-member to pull the header out and put a new stud in there and pay 350 bucks to a friend for doing the work

This proved to be a mistake. Let him run by himself and get tires with tread (cobra was on dr's) and learn how to shift faster! Also get at least a intake.

I hate to say it but I knew the pulleied 450 rwhp cobra would beat the stock 350 rwhp C5Z06
The C5Z06 guys who think the stock z can hang with the pulleied Cobras are guys who just had a quick race from 0-100..or even a 1/4 mile drag strip race from 0-115 mph..
The weight of the c5Z06 in these 115 mph top speed races will allow it to be close..But at some point the reality of the extra 100 rwhp possesed by the pullied cobra is gonna show it's face..
And as mph increases weight means less and less..
I have nothing but respect for the C5Z06's..but the pullied cobras are pretty sick..
look how close the pullied cobra sticks with this stock 2006 510 crank HP Viper.........

Those vipers trapp a solid 5-6 mph higher than the C5Z06's at 116 for the C5Z06 verses 122 for the 510 HP SRT10's...
And the pullied cobra hangs pretty well....So much respect to the stock c5Z06's but this is a race they just cant win...

hats that guy talking about..this had nothing to do with tires ect..they were even every time till mid 3rd and then power to weight kicked in and lights out...
That C5z06 was only getting pulled by a car..It was 2-3 cars each time..It was bad..very very bad

I recently purchased a 03 z06 with mods in sig and I've so far on the highway I've beaten a 03 Cobra (doubt it had a pulley) by 2 cars, a new M5 by one car car, and a blown g35 by about 4-5 cars. The BMW and Cobra were both just quick runs with me only running through 3rd gear. G35 was through 2nd into third. Unless it's sunny out and 80+ degrees my tires won't heat up and I can't powershift the z from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd without dangerous wheelspin. I'm running the older style michelin pilots. I'd love to run a pullied cobra, i think it'd be even.
