There is another thread on the s60R volvos on here. I looked them up and also did some research. They offer some upgrade kits that can boost it up to 360 or so for around two thousand bucks. And 3700 is not that heavy and awd can launch good if someone takes them up the rpm band. Assuming the factory axles ,clutch and tranny can take the abuse. Its too bad they never offered our fourth gens in awd variation. That would have been interesting.

my 96 volvo 850R ran 13.7 it was a pretty quick heavy car. It would outrun bolt on ls1's to about 105mph on the highway. Turbo swap, full exhaust, and some other things and those things can go pretty good. They just dont have the ***** to hang with ls1's on the big end though.
And a volvo S40R, S60R are slow pigs. Made for a nice DD. I had a guy in an S40 want to run my F250 PSD on I-85 2 weekends ago. Wasn't even close. Not a kill I would normally mention.

my 96 volvo 850R ran 13.7 it was a pretty quick heavy car. It would outrun bolt on ls1's to about 105mph on the highway. Turbo swap, full exhaust, and some other things and those things can go pretty good. They just dont have the ***** to hang with ls1's on the big end though.
Bone stock M6 LS1 fbodies trap anywhere from 104-108mph, factory freaks see up to 110mph stock.
I don't see you beating a bolt on M6 car from a highway roll, doubt even a stock one...

Im talking a4 ls1's with a lid and a catback. I would outrun them till about 105, i was boosting 20psi with meth injection. Im not saying the car was fast im just saying it was a good highway car.
The s60R is a good daily driver car, nothing fancy. But the s40 is the red-headed step child of volvo, they are garbage.
