the way i see it people dont buy those cars JUST for performance. they'll buy them b/c of the name, how it looks on the outside and interior. some of em dont know S*** about cars they just like having the feeling of hey i have more money than you.

. I hate people that use that bullshit excuse. Good kill and all, but I am gonna say that you definitely *shouldn't have* beaten him that bad, and maybe not at all. And food for thought; why spend $12k on a low 13s F-body when you can build a 10s foxbody for that much? It's about more than straightline speed

10's foxbody....? you find me one of those..... heres coming from a (mustang owner) sorry but ive crapped on stock GT all day...! but anyway back to the point if it makes you feel better.. we are going to race again soon n video tape it so maybe your right or maybe your wrong? he was a 1/2 or a car behind at 85mph. but who knows right?? since mustang people "know it all" but ill make sure to get a good video of it. maybe he just messed up on shifting or whatever. but i had 3 heads in my car and they all said from a stop it was good starts. even the other driver said we started good. i was ahead the whole time but as we were getting to 85mph he was about 1/2 car or a car behind....(slowly creeping towards me). anyone else race a 03 carrera b4??? have you guys even raced a porsche b4..you never know until you race it.

heres the "stock" stats of the cars....but who knows what were both really pushin. (+ i have dual borla exhaust so ya..)

2003 Porsche Carrera
3.6l
315hp
273lb torque
2910lbs

2001 Chevy Camaro Z28
5.7l
310hp
340lb torque
3306lbs

And both cars run low 13s @ 104-108mph stock. So if he lost to your stock LS1 F-body when you had an extra ~500lbs in the car, that is driver error. Is his Carrera an automatic or something? And also, when did I ever bring up my car?

because you can have a ls1 fbody that runs 10 for not much more and still have leather a/c and good gas milage and drive it every day
let me list it out for u
used pre modded ls1 fbody 10000$
slicks 500$
150 shot of n20 1000$

raping the fox that has no interior no a/c horriable gas milage and such a big cam it bearly idles...... priceless

and im not trying to bash foxs but a fox is best used for going really fast(10s and quicker) and not for a car you will drive more then once a week

347 stroker or a little bigger, 100 shot, decent H/C combo, and slicks could run high 10's with a driver who isn't retarded.
I dare you to find one LS1 on the stock 10 bolt on slicks spraying off the line running 10's.

Bullshit aside, if you pay $80,000 for a "sports car" it better be able to be fast in all kinds of racing stock, INCLUDING STRAIGHT LINE.

I didn't give an "opinion of your car." I gave my opinion on the outcome of the race, and your attitude. And yes Tiptronic is "easy shifting," but it's also slower than a 6spd. I think if you ran into a good driver in a 6spd Carrera, he would stay right with you even if you were by yourself. But like I said, good kill and work on your attitude a bit .
