Evo's come with a 4.53 final drive which is too short imo. I would like to swap it out for a 4.11 if I could ever get my hands on one.

I'm not around the tuner scene much if ever and I was wondering if they even really make gear swaps for Evo's like the FBody's and Mustangs...? How much would something like that run?

You have to swap out the final drive in the transmission to change the gearing. Most people just step up and run a bigger tire though.

I really don't get the Subie that has 366awhp myself. Built motor and all. I guess I can see it that he doesn't want to **** his new engine up. But 22.5 psi is damn high for a car thats only pushing 366hp. I think he may have a boost leak...

Props to your 6er bud. I'm against putting ram air hoods on Camaro's but nice ride.

cheers,
Pipe

I had an 04 Stage 2 STi, with a tune, stock turbo, fuel system and Big TMIC its capable of about 323whp max at around 23-24psi. Maybe its his tune !

even if i did, the LS1 would be my daily driver, and my 6er would be my weekend warrior....when the cars rolling, its no joke.

I take it your not too familer with Grand nationals or GNX's.

I agree.

Just because a car can put numbers down on a dyno and not blow up on the dyno doesn't mean it's going to make that power reliably on the street.

If there was "no end" to the power a 3.8 block could handle, then you wouldn't have had to custom build your turbo kit, because the tuning community would've picked up on the "bulletproof" 3.8 block and begun modding the **** out of it, and everyone would know about the stout 3.8 motor.

Not saying the 3.8 can't handle some good numbers, but there is most certainly a power level where it will become a ticking time bomb... probably sooner than later.

Not knocking your car though, I pretty much like everything about it, cept the hood.

And the color... but i'm in the minority. For me, only black camaros/TAs instill fear when I see one.

Even if it's a stock TA, black/black, I'm like "Oh ****, a black TA" lol

Im not saying anything like that. Every motor has its breaking point....

what Im saying is the 3.8 series 2's have No trouble at all with doubling their output HP on a stock motor....and alot of people under estimate them

I like his hood, and the cars color. I do feel like the hood *probably* isn't feeding air into his turbo though. But I don't care, it still looks MEAN AS **** with the intercooler and that hood. If I saw that coming up in my rearview, all I would think was ".. oh ****, I'm about to get my *** kicked"

there actually is a big aftermarket for the 3.8 just not for RWD applications. look at the GTP they have kits to block the supercharger off and turbo them with the same psi and make like 30-40 more hp. the only problem with the 3.8 in the camaro is its mounting is unique to only the f-body and the big market is behind the FWD applications.

Hmm would a lot of the aftermarket parts for the GTP work for the Camaro?

well a good amount but it depends how it mounts. thats the only reason you cant put a supercharged 3.8 in the camaro is because the charger won't clear the hood. the turbo kits wont fit either yet because of the piping and how its routed, i mean i guess you could buy the kit or just the turbo and do all the piping yourself.
there are just alot of fittament issues between the 3.8's fwd and rwd means alot of different mounting and pretty much a redesign for the kits they make and everyone who wants a fast v6 camaro realizes that there isnt a big market and with about 2-3k more they could have gotten a v8. thats pretty much what happened to me, but for the OP case i can understand why he got the 3.8 first then started modding it later on. very nice car and pretty rare as well.

nice ride OP

hes still on stock cams tho...he blew up the origional motor a few months back.
An FP Green is a 50 trim variant, not a GT30. Thats part of the answer right there. And why such low boost?
