me vs. buddys 366whp STI

well the other night we met up for a little car meet just to bullshit and what not. Well, later on in the night my buddy with his full built (Built motor,GT30R turbo etc) STI asked if I wanted to do a few runs on the highway with him. We both agree just to have a little fun and what not. We get out there, and go from a 70 roll.....By 140, he had about 2 cars on me BUT I was misfiring....2nd run, 1 car on me from a 70 to 140.....3rd and 4th runs, were Dead even.....70-140. Needless to say, its the best race I have ever had. I have never had any cars be dead even with me......makes it better that its one of my friends.....Now I gotta figure out why I have a cylinder 1 missfire

His car put down 366whp and 365wtq on the dyno.

After me and the STI raced, my buddy who was in the car with me went and got his 2000 Z28 with I/E. Him and the STI went from a 70 roll to 120, and the STI had 2 cars and still pulling hard on him.

 

AWD from a high roll kills them. I wouldn't advise a dig or low roll against him.

sounds like fun races, but if hes fully built why is he only makin 366hp most stock ones with upgraded turbos make that much power

sorry man, but racing a car with an alleged misfire is an aweful idea. Especially in a boosted application.

 

fix that car and race him again...make sure you post the outcome.

 

X2. I'm calling BS on being fully built. Sorry just doesn't sink in that fully built/upgraded turbo is only putting down those numbers. STI's around here with minor bolt ons and upped boost are laying down 350WHP.

im real good friends with him. Hes only running 22.5 psi on a FP Green (same specs as a gt30R) because hes still on stock clutch...built motor only has 1500k on it.

Call BS on me all you want....his motor is fully built...hes just got reasons for not turning up the boost even more.

hes still on stock cams tho...he blew up the origional motor a few months back.

 

I'd feel pretty dumb if i had a turbo LS1 and a 4 cylinder beat me too....too bad thats not the case and I have a bone stock 3.8 motor.

reading gets you alot farther then you would expect

 

I wasn't aware I was misfiring until the middle of the run when my SES started blinking...

 

impressive for a 3.8L...hands down...nice runs and if i may say nice turnout for a v6 camaro.

Sorry fucknuts I didnt read his sig and nowhere in his post or any others did it say he was a V6. I never read people sigs, bite me.

 

I'm just confused on why buy a V6 and turbo it when by the time u spend all that money for the turbo set up u could of had a nice LS1 and saved up more money and put a turbo on that and had a real beast on your hands

But still nice run for a 6 cyl. theres just something about the lsx that makes me wet in my pants lol
