Today I was on a road trip in the '06 Z06 I just traded my Cobra for. I hadn't opened it up much since I just got it Saturday.

Anyway, I was cruise-controlled at 80 when the Porsche showed up in the mirror closing real fast. I was about to swap lanes when I decided that I don't see many of these and now was as good a time as any to see what he had.

I dropped to 4th and hit it hard to about 140. At first he stomped on it but he let off quick.

When I realized he wasn't game I moved to the right lane and reset the cruise. He passed me at probably 100 w/ a completely hot blonde in the passenger seat. I'm thinking she was the boss on that deal.

In any case, I've got to say I love the Vette. It doesn't have the low-end the Cobra did (it's down at least 150 hp to that car) but the top end is amazing. Plus, it doesn't rattle.

Both the 997 turbo and the Z06 are great cars. You picked the right one to own.

 

Also had a "sorta" go with a tricked out C6 non Z. Lowered, rimmed and exhausted (at least). It was damned fast.

 

yea you gotta watch out for those C6's, they're sneaky.. Plus you can't tell if they're modded alot of the time until they get on it. I'm running the stock mufflers so you can tell mine is modded just from looking at it. You can tell once you hear it at WOT.

I'm sure I'll upgrade at some point. Right now I like the idea of quiet and warranteed. It's also something the wiff will drive - she wouldn't go near the Cobra.

Keep in mind I've only had this pig for three days.

Yes warrentys are nice and i dont think ill ever let the ladyfriend drive my car lol but im an *** so screw it yea i just know a lot of people say they like it stock i give it 2 months tops before u want to do something to it but very nice car hoping to own one myself one day

 

Sounds like fun. I'd probably kill for a C6 Z06, but maybe someday I'll have the money to buy one (like when they're 15 years old and everything out there is making 1,200 hp from the factory ).

 

being older definitely helps, just not too old. Before I turned 40 I've gotten to own an E46 M3 and now a C6 Corvette. Life's been good to me.

 

I wouldn't put it past detroit but I'm guessing we're reaching the plateau as far as the hp wars are concerned. I'm in the same boat though. Should be able to afford one in about 10 years...in a perfect world

 

Yea with this job and the right people quit or die or something i should have one in about 5 years i know i know thats wronge thing to say but thats also life. it just sucks because must the people right above me making the good money are only like 10 years older then me but hey someone will mess up ill be making the real money one day
