Most I see keep the factory hood scoop. I've seen some put a regular WRX hood on, and a select few switch over to the RS hood.

most keep it, the only ones who dont usually seem to be shop cars or ppl with a lot of $ for an aftermarket one

If it were me I would either delete it or get a proper back facing vent that allows air to evacuate the engine bay rather than ramming air into an area thats probably already relatively high pressure. Evos have that opening right above and behind the radiator for a reason.

And IMHO the new STI looks like a Focus and a Prius had a one night stand and the kid grew up rough and got some peircings. It pisses me off that they make such all-around performers so damn ugly. How can companies that created the 2.5RS and 2G Eclipse produce this styling?

Well the reason for the styling change was an attempt to nab older buyers who might have shy'd away from the car due to the "extreme" looks. And judging by some of the '08 STi "whats your age" threads it has worked. Lots of new 35+ year old STi owners. Then they added "hey im cool i have NAV" stuff, while leaving the power alone

Like I said I'm hoping for an enthusiast limited with a big bump on HP and like radio delete and whatever else.

I'm actually looking at 135i right now, (well if they make an AWD x version) they are gonna be beasts

Some mag did a comparo of the Evo, STI, and 335XI. They choose the 335. Now if the 135 is capable o being lightened and does not cost an arm and leg, then I think you have a pretty god plan there. A nice single 35R on that new 3.0 would be pretty psychotic.

I've tossed around the same idea. But I wouldn't mod it and I would probably sell my DD as well and just drive the BMW daily.
