Default New style STI

I was just driving to a friends house. As this guy in a nice looking new STI starts pacing me then speeding up and slowing down. At first I was not going to do anything but after two city blocks of this I'd had it. So he he is in front of me as we are coming up to a the light I was going to turn at, and what do you know his blinker comes on right after mine. He speeds up to take the turn fast to show me how bad his car is. I follow, with my bald tires I'm sideways for a bit but once I catch it was not pretty. I don't think he knew that my car was as fast as it is. Not a great kill but it was the first new one I've seen and he wouldn't let it go. I'm not bashing the STI I realy like the car but thought I would share.

Yes I know I wouldn't normally post on it but it was the new hatch style.

I think they look better then the previous model but too many of the owners have been watching too many reruns of Fast & Furious on TBS.

AGREED!!
I have NEVER seen a manufacturer UGLY UP a model as bad as Scooby did to that poor thing!! (And they possibly made it slower with more weight as well!)

I don't think the new STI is horrible, but it's definitely a downgrade compared to the previous model.

Good Kill!

2004 STI's are the ones I like most......don't like the wing on them though.

Nice kill. The only one I ever ran into looked and sounded stock and had four people in it. He kept trying over and over again, trying to get a huge jump, which I gave him, but seeing as how I make similar power to you, it just never worked out too well for him.

The new body style is quite a bit slower than the previous generation, mostly due to an increase in weight.

In most of the reviews I've read, the new STi is running somewhere around 14.0 @ 100MPH.

Then again, since when has any information you've ever tried to contribute about any import even been close to correct?

Sold my 05 STi with about 385HP to get into my Z06. That was 385 at the crank with bolt ons and a tune.

My 361WHP Z06 would destroy it. In any way shape or form.

The new sti is fugly as hell, but it is more functional for it's intended purpose. Rally driving. Shorter over hangs up front and out back make for a better rally car than the old model.

True.
And the actual factory WRC car does not look quite as fugly as the street STI does.
Still, the best looking one ever was the 2 door Imprezza in full WRC factory/Prodrive trim. This was actually one of the best looking rally cars of all time, IMO.

'04s are the best, but im biased haha

I hate the new style, hoping they release a limited enthusiast version in the future with more hp, recaros, etc and less fluff crap like NAV

100mph isn't much slower than what they used to trap. I wonder if launching the cars became much more difficult.

If/when owners go to big front mounts, do they get rid of the hood scoop, or do they keep it anyway for the extra cooling??
