Tired of the "Bad start" excuse
I dont know about all that I saw a shoot out between ls1's and lt1's and they can be made just as fast as anything else.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Seriously though.....when you race from a stop, isn't the start part
of the race??? Saying "Oh well, I lost because I had a bad start" is like saying "Oh, you only beat me cuz my car tops out at 55 mph." Like I always say......excuses are for losers. If you can't lose with some dignity, go get a faster car. Wish the ricers around here would get the hint.

Good murder, either way.
Yes launching off the line is part of the race however like said before we all (most of us) have had our share of bad launches. It comes with the sport! If we all could launch perfect every time we would be on TV in one of those loud cars getting paid to drive it. There is nothing wrong with getting a bad launch and telling the other guy and asking for another try. Whats bad about that? I've done it and had it done to me. And I don't understand the "oh you beat me only because my car tops out at 155mph". If I raced a Z06 up to 160mph I'd get him until 135mph and then he would be coming past me because my 4th gear runs out at 135mph. I have yet to read anything in this thread that makes sense... and to the OP what if he really doesnt launch well?

In alot of cases on the street, bad launches = bad drivers. Yes, you can be overanxious and have a bad launch every now and again and there are other worse things that could come into play (shitty tires, tranny issues, etc.) but if those things are the case then you shouldn't racing anyway. Everyone has a bad time or two getting off the line but if someone has a consistent problem launching, they need to be spending more time in the car getting it right.
] .....whether you spun too much, blew a head gasket, lost a wheel, missed a gear, detonated your block, ran out of gas, or your car just plain sucks. Most races you only get one shot at. You blow it.....you lost. Sure, we all screw up in a race sometimes. But whining about imperfect running conditions or your own inability to drive your car properly just makes you seem like a poor loser. I've never gotten a "do-over" from anyone I lost to on the street. I guess that explains my cynicism over this whole "poor start" excuse thing.
