Yea, but whilst in the 13's there's not much to brag about, I know b/c my cars are both their and there are more than enough people to embarrass me. a 100 shot should help but still isn't near enough for some.

Just one of those to bring you back outta the clouds with an LT1. I've been there.

Nothing to get too worked up about I8ASaleen, just posting a classic funny story of the hot headed ricer who bites off more than he could chew. Never said my car is a pumped up drag killing machine from hell. I love the LT1 motor and I don't sell my car short of what it can do, but I also know what could beat my pants off and what can't

Seriously though.....when you race from a stop, isn't the start part
of the race??? Saying "Oh well, I lost because I had a bad start" is like saying "Oh, you only beat me cuz my car tops out at 55 mph." Like I always say......excuses are for losers. If you can't lose with some dignity, go get a faster car. Wish the ricers around here would get the hint.

Good murder, either way.

Here's my theory on this situation. Now I don't want to pick on the little people here but when you have a car with 17x9 wheels, an automatic, and less than 300rwhp I guess "I got a bad launch" does get old. You don't have to deal with bad launches because all it takes is you to mash the gas down and off you go. Hell I know of 4 year olds that can do that. Now put yourself in a manual transmission car with alittle bit of power and not so huge tires and you will be getting pissed at yourself for all the "bad launches". With that said...

Yes launching off the line is part of the race however like said before we all (most of us) have had our share of bad launches. It comes with the sport! If we all could launch perfect every time we would be on TV in one of those loud cars getting paid to drive it. There is nothing wrong with getting a bad launch and telling the other guy and asking for another try. Whats bad about that? I've done it and had it done to me. And I don't understand the "oh you beat me only because my car tops out at 155mph". If I raced a Z06 up to 160mph I'd get him until 135mph and then he would be coming past me because my 4th gear runs out at 135mph. I have yet to read anything in this thread that makes sense... Continue on.

thanks! Since I'm out of the 13's I guess I can talk some ****.

In alot of cases on the street, bad launches = bad drivers. Yes, you can be overanxious and have a bad launch every now and again and there are other worse things that could come into play (shitty tires, tranny issues, etc.) but if those things are the case then you shouldn't racing anyway. Everyone has a bad time or two getting off the line but if someone has a consistent problem launching, they need to be spending more time in the car getting it right.

Traction on the street can be determined by as little things as how long your car has been sitting allowing your tires to get cold to what condition the road is in! saying bad launches = bad driver is a fetch. Now if someone is leaving a complete smoke show at the line is another thing but I think we are talking more about lightly spinning through 1st and maybe 2nd. Too many things come into play here its hard to keep everyone on the same page! lol

for the most part everyone is over analyzing this....it wouldnt have mattered if they went from a 10mph roll the result would have still been the same. All the OP was stating is that he thinks its funny because the kid used it has an excuse as for why he lost. He started this thread for everybody to read and also to see what some other stories are as to why the other guy lost.

I'll paraphrase Diesel here: [Losing is losing] .....whether you spun too much, blew a head gasket, lost a wheel, missed a gear, detonated your block, ran out of gas, or your car just plain sucks. Most races you only get one shot at. You blow it.....you lost. Sure, we all screw up in a race sometimes. But whining about imperfect running conditions or your own inability to drive your car properly just makes you seem like a poor loser. I've never gotten a "do-over" from anyone I lost to on the street. I guess that explains my cynicism over this whole "poor start" excuse thing.

I am glad to see that most everyone in here is not over analyzing my story and my friend 02 T/A said it best, "I was just saying it was his excuse for losing and wanna share it with everyone else and have others tell me some stories similar to it." Even if we raced again, the result would of been the same. And for the record, that guy with the Golf GTI, he did not spin bad or anything like that, his car is just slow, and he picked a losing battle with me. I don't care if it seems like I was picking on him, cause in all reality, he was the guy who pulled up to me at the light and yelled over at me like a misunderstood 4 year old playing with his matchbox cars, "I'll run ya!". The guy had it coming, and I love it! And to make it even better, he lost with his girlfriend in the car,
