This is why I normally let other people take off first... and I take off after them.. then when I lose I can claim I had a bad start. haha

oh come on. if we didnt race 200hp cars then every mustang that wanted to race and got turned down would think they were faster . my friend has a gti, with minor upgrades but stock turbo, though he is getting a t3/t4 installed monday, but he always brags about beating mustangs. and like someone previously said they are pretty quick. forced induction especially from a roll is not something to go easy on. i raced him and i beleive he could beat a mustang just by how far behind he was when we raced. put up more of a fight than i expected for sure.

i actually hate to lose... because sometimes there is something that happened. my number one reason is that damn traction control... i forget that **** in the spur of the moment. haha but if i do happen to lose i get out and hold my tongue. never make an excuse... but all my opponents on the other hand...lol

one thing is my wife loves to drive the gto... most of the guys only come for a shot when she is driving... lol pussies i tell ya... i have never lost to any of my friends while i was driving...haha

my favorites are blame it on the cut out, weight or extra passenger, i was spinning, or i started late...lol

usually in my head my excuses are: we drove around for 30 minutes before the race so my aluminum manifold was heat soaked umm i usually have a full tank of gas and a about 2-3 passengers ont he weekends... lol so when they make thier excuses i make mine and tell them let me correct my mistakes and you do the same then we can go again...

they always decline unless to hard headed to realize they were fucked from the get go

I had an old 70 chevy short bed (BUILT 383 stroker), one night I squaired up with a 71 nova (350 w/cam & headers) and got my *** handed to me! I had Much more power, But my foot was too heavy off the line. Everyone watching said all they saw was "my shift light lighting up the whole interior from launch all the way through 3rd gear and tire smoke"! I went almost nowhere! When the "race" was over we shook hands and he said "At least you lost with style".
