From a dig the A4 will beat it, but could be a drivers race. From a roll the cobra should take it.

You would need to make 475-500rwhp too any way you want it. N20, FI or stroker.

Good vid. See the difference from ditching the IRS and saving 120lbs. (2nd vid)

These are still only 460-480rwhp pullied Cobras so it will take a bit more to take a 500-540rwhp (ported eaton) car. A strong H/C or a good cam/100 shot would be fine.

Now this is JUST my opinion .. But.. i would say the cobra would beat the Ls1 ..how bad depends on the mods.. what info u gave me think he would pull the Ls1 pretty good..

I have a freind with a pulled full bolt on convrt.. but on a Mustang dyno he only making 413/440 and hes a convert ..on the same dyno .. im at ...386/386

we were dead even .. ran 3 times same result .. i could not pull him and he couldnt pull me.. but u said there is 100 rwhp diff. so my guess would be ..cobra wins every time.. IMO

I sure would like to see the vid

Edit Ls1>Imports.. DAM tht cars runss OUT nice vids

yea my point is a cammed ls1 does haul some ***, and even held strong with that solid axle cobra. and 480hp 501tq puts the cobra about 80 more hp and 100+ more tq then that camaro(witch wouldnt push much over 400hp)
so i think with the tr230 you can beat up on alot of pullied/bolt-on cobras.
now a full-bolt-on/ported/pullied cobra it'll take a heads/cam with a 100 shot ls1 and you'll be in the clear.

The question is far too vague for a real answer IMO. There are cam only
LS1's that run anywhere from 10's to 12's and the same thing applies
to 500rwhp Cobras. Guys are literally running 10.50's with 500rwhp in
Cobras. On the same note, plenty of people are running 12.0's as well.

So how much power does an good H/C ls1 put out, like with a set of AFR heads and a nice cam? I am asking this because cam only cars usually put down 375-400rwhp. So from a good set of heads how much extra power would that car push?

I've seen them anywhere from 400 (baby cam) to 460 or so.
FWIW, I've seen cam only cars everywhere from 360-415rwhp

So it seems like the heads really dont make a hell of a lot of difference. My friends cam only SS puts 417 at the rear. So how much would a good set of heads pick his car up?

LS1's

cam only= 375-410hp
cam/heads= 400-440hp
cam/heads/intake= 420-465hp

this is more of an estimate not exact (alitttle more or alittle less)

its not all about numbers,
ive seen cars dyno at 370hp, and still hit deep in the 11's and trap 110-119mph. but it depends on the heads, i would say 20-40 more hp

Yea, take him from a dig.. Cobras have a hard time putting that power to the ground. Most folks ignore suspension mods and if they have suspension mods very few have the skill to feather the power to the ground.
The more back to back runs the better chance you'll have (Heat Soak).
it's not going to be an easy task, you better be on point..

Send the vid over, i'll see what i can do..
