Default Is there a difference

Is there much of a difference in acceleration between these cars. which would be the quickest and which would be the slowest. These are the cars and they are all M6's and the same year. Z28, SS, TA, or the TA WS6. What is the quickest F-body from the factory.

quickest F-bod from the factory IMO would probably be a stripper formula WS6 hardtop or a stripper Z-28 hardtop with six speed. I think the formula WS6 would be faster due to the airbox, catback etc.

He means that it isn't loaded with options like body cladding, monsoon system, heavy wheels, etc. the way the WS6 or SS is.

My thoughts exactly.

I would think the WS6 formula would be a tad quicker as he stated, but the difference when you get to this level is all driver. Shitty driver in a stripped formula WS6 with plastic wheels (hehe), will lose everytime to the good driver in the fully loaded lead wheeled TA WS6.

Personally, I say go for the one you like the looks of the best, then just do some lightening of your own, and mod it the way you'd like.

I couldn't agree more phantom, which is exactly why I bought a WS6 .

I would guess the fastest would definitely be the stripper Formula. Not that I take a magazines word for true but in the 13 fastest stock cars in America the Formula scored higher than the SS and what not because they seemed ot have more trouble making the SS hook up than they did the Formula. Who knows

I like the trans am WS6 the most, im going to be getting one sometime in the next couple of weeks. I have had a few chances to buy one but i'm waiting until i find one that is exactly what i want, because I have to pay for it and not my parents.

And what would be the best way to do some weight reduction on these cars.

Its alright buddy, it took me over 3 months of going to dealerships all over the tri-state area to find the EXACT car I was looking for. I finally found it in massachusets.

As far as weight reduction ... back seats, spare tire, floor mats, carpet, any non-necessary audio stuff like cd changer etc, lighter exaust components, random stuff like that.
Personally, I have only done the weight reduction that doesnt involve cutting apart my car, but somepeople are more then happy to get rid of they're carpet for 20 lbs. My backseats and spare tire stay in the car unless I am going out racing.

Some people like to take the seats out, spare tire & jack, floor mats, whatever, anything to lose weight. I wouldn't worry about the weight though unless you're planning on racing competitively. For street racing and occasional trips to the strip I'd just do some bolt ons and what not.

Phantom, have you got the commercial of the black TA WS6 eating an Italian sports car? I've got it on my PC. I can email it to you if your ISP allows attachments that are about 2.5 megs. Let me know if you want it.

Yep, thats exactly how I thought. Whatever you do, DONT SETTLE. I almost did a few times when I started getting extremely frustrated at dealers/car selections, etc. It seemed NOBODY had the car I was looking for. I am very happy now, that I did not settle as I almost did.
Good luck to ya.

I know how you feel, guys. Last year I settled on buying the v6, and regretted until earlier this month, when I finally got my LT1. I waited 2 months after selling the v6 to my father til getting the LT1, I looked all over for the perfect one, and finally found it. Take your time, don't settle, it's well worth it.
