If you think slipping the clutch(double clutching) is easier on the clutch, take another drag off of whatever it is you're smoking.
If you look up at who I quoted, it was Sharky. My point being, downshifting to first at 25mph in my car would be no big deal. If I were racing someone from a 25mph roll, this is the way I would have to go. Going from second and slipping the clutch would be HELL on the clutch and I am sure you would be rewarded with that nice clutch aroma when done. It would also get my butt kicked in a race.

Racing from a 30 or so always sucked cause I was used to the Mustang downshifting to 2nd and being in the perfect rpm range, but the Camaro sucked in second. So I always figured a nice rev match into 1st was okay (never hurt in the 18 wheeler). I hope Im not hurting anything.

If I remember correctly, isn't the term for this "double-clutch"? (Haha, fast and the furious style. "granny shiftin not double clutchin like ya should". although I don't see how Paul Walker should be double clutching from a dig... stupid *** movie)
double clutching is when your downshifting ... your in 5th (for example), and you want to goto 4th, you take it out of gear let up on the clutch, match rpms and put it back in gear (when it goes in nice and smooth, you did it correctly) .... the only thing this does is to save the syncs and to make the downshift smoother. As for TooSlowTooGay, I don't understand where DOM got that from, but he has the IQ of a wall, so I don't think it matters.

isn't that what the guy said? that's exactly what i was talkin about. I've never tried it, however. I rarely drive a manual, since both my cars are automatics (I wish the LT1 was a 6-speed...)
