what will it take Tonight i was rolling with my friend who has an 03 cobra, and that thing is fast! Well an SS with a M6 pulled up next to us so we slowed down to about 25. Then my friend downshifted and punched it, and so did the SS. Well the SS puled us by about a car length till around 60, then we pulled about even with him by 70, and when my friend shifted into 3rd and we pulled about 2 carlengths on the SS from 70 to around 100 then we let off because of traffic. Is this usually what happens when stock f-bodies race the 03 cobras. And it seems that the SS was faster until 60 is true. My friend told me that when he races camaros that usually they have him until around 60, then he pulls on them after that. Are the F-bodies faster until they hit 60. I'm going to be getting a WS6 TA some time in the next 2 weeks, and I was wondering if all of the free mods, and a lid will make it so that I could run even with him. I just dont want to loose because my friend is only 15 and his parents bought the car, and i'm 16 and I have had to bust my *** trying to pay for it. So what will it take to get those extra couple of car lengths, so that I don't loose. And are there any other fairly inexpensive mods that I can do that will help.
Re: what will it take Yah, this has been discussed quite a few times, and im sure doing searches in the engine mod portions of this thread would be alot more helpful then here, but I will quick answer you.
As it has been said, in order to pull on a stock 03 cobra, your going to need between 350-375rwhp. This can be accomplished usually with bolt-ons, and a cam. If you want to get there relatively easily with little money, a 100 shot of nitrous will get you to that mark. That amount of hp should allow you to easily walk any stock 03. Now, if they get some basic bolt-on mods, and one of those god pulley's of theres, your going to need a bunch more. But like I said, the engine mod sections of this board would answer your question much better then the doofs in this section will.

Do u have any Idea what that does to your tranny, not to mention your clutch? The way to do it boys is to clutch, then rev your rpms to reach your torq peak or close to it at least and unload. (All of this being in 2nd. With practice u'll get the hang of it.

Do u have any Idea what that does to your tranny, not to mention your clutch? The way to do it boys is to clutch, then rev your rpms to reach your torq peak or close to it at least and unload. (All of this being in 2nd. With practice u'll get the hang of it.

I'm hurting for ur cars
I dont have mine yet I just sold my truck and I am waiting until I find the car I want. It shouldn't take very long either I have 25'000 to spend, I'm just waiting until I find one with all the options i want and is a dark color.

It's not legal, but his parents weren't home that night so we said screw it and took it out for a couple of hours.

He's saying just push your clutch in, bring up your rpm's and dump it, instead of down shifting to 1st.
Also, slipping the clutch is slipping the clutch, it's not double clutching...
