Yea, he couldn't get his launches down. It's his first stick car. The first run he left the traction control on, the second he popped the clutch and gassed it too fast lol. The third he spun again. I'm going to give him lessons.

I ran a 14.6 in a 92 LX 5 Speed 5.0 with shot suspension with the only mods being a shifter, flows and a high flow h pipe.

I felt bad for him, he couldn't catch a break that night. I agree that people were running slow. hell there was a blue M6 WS6 that had 315s, Full exhaust & probably bolt ons that ran 13.2-14.0 so I don't feel to bad.

Im in the same boat. stock stall in my 01' Z28 A4 would only stall up to about 1100 any higher it would start to spin. I ran a 13.1834 @ 107.63 with a 60' of 2.1663 and the 1/8 was a 8.6106 @ 85.98

Now mine was only had a SLP lid, Flowmaster muffler and a Hypertech tunner on factory tires WITH the ASR ON. With the ASR OFF I wuld spin all through 1st and 2nd, and ran a 16.8795 @ 91.89 with a 60' of 2.3442

Next track vist will be with DR's and a 125 wet shot.

Ohyeah, this was in Houston, Texas.

my advice is get a 300 shot, and some drag radials and you can run faster that will wake the car up a bit, you should get out of the 13s lol

You know i always hear people complaining about spinning and what not, in my m6 i woudl launch around 3000-3200rpms and the tires would squeal but be hardly spnning, and then when i slmmed into second it would squeal but not spin again, i was getting 1.8-1.9 60 foots with stock size tires.

So you ran a 13.1 with a 60ft or 2.1663, then you said it didnt have traction and you hada 60ft of 2.3something but ran a 16.8795, so you did most of your spinning after the 60ft?

Mine would do a slight spin....I don't need a 300 shot to get out of the 13s, my exhaust and tune should take care of that.....I'm going to go on a test & tune night and see if the track prep is any better

yep! got it on video and the slip in my hand right now. the car spins hard when just over 3000rpm's and the same through 2nd... I also keep my foot in it for the fun of it. It got squirly pretty bad through 2nd.
I think with a set of DR's, ASR off and a good 1.8 60' it should be in the high 12's the way it sits, W/O nitrous.

Is that a typo for the 1/8th mph on the 2nd run? That was really good!

True true about Sac! VERY slippery. My best mph before my tuner was there though but the 60fts plain sucked. Even the AWD guys complained.

Tell your buddy the day I was there an LS2 GTO couldn't get out of the 14s so don't feel so bad. Did he dyno his car after the tune though? Was he running 93 Octane?

Its all good. I've ran a sac twice and my best 60ft is still 2.3

That blue ws6 ended up running like a 12.7 at 108

Sears Point is MUCH better! Better prep, cheaper AND you don't have to go hunting for your timeslip. NO comparison IMO.

4 good runs is better than 6-8 crap runs.
