This was basically to answer an earlier assumption. AZturbo69 was right on a lot of the parts if you were to go
and buy them retail from the highest markup places. I personally price shopped, and supported my local shops
and ended up saving some money. Hope this clears up some questions.

Put Together GT37R kit - 2000 (1300 for the turbo, 600 for the manifold, 100 for misc lines)

*AEM EMS* -1200 Tune was about $200.00 because I could not dyno tune it, just a rough road tune. Abel are good guys.

*2.3 stroker block - 4500 not including labor* (actually that is about right, INCLUDING labor though)

*AMS Race Heads and I believe it was HKS 280 cams?* - 1000 (Abel Ported head and FP 280x cams)

*Built tranny and transfer case* - (Rebuilt by Abel parts and labor 1500)

*Clutch that can hadle that power exedy tripple plate* - 1450 (Twin Disk HD with some tricks)

1600cc injectors - 300

*exhaust - 1000* (you were right on this one)

That's $13,000.00 in parts and Labor And just for grins, lets add another 2000.00 on misc stuff (piping, bov, yadda)
so that still is about 10k under what you are stating. You can do it cheaper if you know where to go
and get the right parts that work with each other.

*and it runs high 9's probably at best.* (Not sure really, I need to get some real world numbers for myself soon)

*That's pretty much why I dont own an evo anymore way too expensive.* (They are expensive for sure)

*But honestly props to you Rob because that is one fast car. I just wouldn't want to spend that much.*

I certainly appreciate the props, and the comments. To each their own, it takes money to make things go fast
and everyone has the way they want to do it. I personally wanted an evo back in 92, but they weren't in the US.

I could go without the wing, and it sometimes is a little ricey for my taste, but the wing is actually functional
after about 120mph. And we all know if you are going to give a Supra a run, you can't shut down until at least 170
or people will call BS =P

Yeah that's impressive and very mean car. But it is the exception not the rule. Especially in the Oklahoma area.

I can vouch for that in the OKC area. I have yet to find a fast GT500, at the track or the street. I hope that changes, as I would welcome any new blood to the area sort to speak.

Only GT500 I have ran was a full bolt on, full suspension, ported stock blower car that made 580rwhp. He got beat down hard lol...

How? Because a bolt-on GT500 lost to a 6xxrwhp turbo Goat?

SVT could have done a little better especially as far as weight goes but once you add .8L of displacement , a blower kit, a 6 speed manual, 14" Brembo's up front and 11.8" brakes out back, an overhauled suspension, the 18" rims it makes sense the GT500 will be heavier than the GT with all that added. For that weight though, it does really well especially up top.

haha why because hardly anyone else has dragged them out yet? theyre fairly expensive cars for most, w/ a lot of creature comforts.

they give very predictable results, just like the 03/04s. few "drag racers" have moved on to them. what evo performance did would be fairly easily replicated, the cars are just too new and still too expensive.

I have hunted that mythical thing for a couple of years and have yet to see it. I believe, so I hear, that he still has it. I think the family thing keeps him out of the game now.
