Default 305 camaro went down to a 04 2.0t saab

ok i was on my way to albany ny from utica ny, (1.75 hrs) i was driving one of my works cars on the way to the auction on the interstate after driving fairly fast trying to see if i coukld catch anything worth playing with i say a teal 80s camaro, was it a iroc im not sure...looked kind of weird, like it had the iroc body kit but no iroc wheels...anyway we went once from 65-90 and i was behind him...the saab is a 5spd auto and i gave it just enough gas to downshift once but not enough to go into right gear..and i was right behind him.then once things cleared up we went from 65-120ish..started 2 back and endd up 1-2 ahead..and the **** of it is that once i started passing him i look over and hes flicking me off haha...ya so it was fun and makes me excited to see what i get to drive next week...im not sure but i think the saab i was in (which is stock) runs about a 15.3...

Funny story... I once had an 87 GMC Caballero aka El Camino... it had the 305 with a 4 speed. The guy i bought it from ripped all the a/c out with some other ****, put a new Edelbrock dual plane intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb and it was slow as hell. I lost a race to one of the new style Cougars. I went to the track and ran a 16 something.

I had a 91 RS that had a 305 tbi.....I think it was rated at a whopping 170 hp and was pretty pathetic

my buddy had a cavalier z24 and would give me a good run for my money

not to mention that everyone of the cars mentioned above, all had like 2.73 gears to, so that made it even more pathetic.

more than likely thats what the op raced as the irocs didn't come in teal & an Iroc wouldn't have had a problem with a sob....even as old as it is

Good Kill.
I miss my 85 Camaro
305 with about 170hp/235tq
I took out the perfectly running A/C and all emission controls. Swapped the carb and took out all the speakers and stereo. Took out the center console, carpet from the rear seats all the way back to the trunk was ripped out. Took out the spare and jack, and rear seats. Had the Cat removed and put a straight pipe all the way down to a 40 series Flowmaster. Wasn't loud enough so I cut the exhaust right after the Y pipe LOL. Got lucky with the rims and got them all with rubber on them from a freshly wrecked F-Body in a junkyard for $150.oo (TT2s). Man I wanted to be fast but had no money so I guess I did what I could do. Still only ran a 16 in the 1/4 LOL. I wish I had it still so I could put an LS1 in it. At least they are cheap still.

As much as I despise the 305 engine and think that one should never be rebuilt, I must have had some factory freaks, b/c the 305's in my camaros ran much better times than what Im hearing

lol and this is why im getting rid of my 305, i should use the damn thing as my boat anchor. Although there are some guys out there with some nice supercharged 305's getting about 400hp, but i dont feel like spending 4000 on a motor thats not worth two cents

My first Camaro was a 1986 base model 305 carbed auto. I had so much fun in that car...but is was a slow car. I loved that car. I thought I was the baddest thing in high school. When I would leave the parking lot I would send one wheel up in smoke. LOL

BTW my third gen would bark second all the time. Hell yeah!

It's funny how when I was younger I wanted to break the tires loose to show how bad my car was but now that I am smarter I am fighting a losing battle to keep them from going up in smoke.
