Default new 740li????? R they fast???

Ok I meant 750LI ?? Wondering ..any one know.. ?? Maybe my motor is going to expire??? Not sure.. here is what happened .. im motoring down the way about 60ish and i see this BIG Black BMW heading my way Fast .. I downshift to 3rd ... as he comes up i see him nail IT.. I had already downshifted to 3rd so i hit mine also.. he was moving but i look over and im not destroying him??

I didnt think he got a good run on me, maybe he did? I shift into 4th pull him to a car and a half by 120- 125ish .. and shut down ... he comes back up quick.. gives me the thumbs up .. and a little hand pooped up ????

Young man in pass seat Lovin the race.. (i had no idea he was there... Not sure i would have took that race Knowing his young son was inside) but anyways.. he had Gwinette, GA co.. tags

So what do u guys think... i was

Honestly didnt think they had any power ?? Oh well, need those heads!!!

cliff Notes: 750LI on a roll vs 400hp Ls1: Ls1 By car and a half from 60-125ish

Ah mild little runs in open area I see no probs with giving the young man a thrill. I have really ripped into my beast with my kids strapped in to let them get a thrill. As for the BMW being fast?????????????? I don't think they are slow. But either way it sounded like fun for all involved. That my man is the essance of why we have powerful cars.

Wikipedia has the newer 750Li listed at 367bhp/361btq

BMWs are always better on the top end

He may have had some mods on it from Dinan or something.

Are you sure it wasn't a 760Li? Those are pushing 445bhp/444btq stock

the 7 series is heavy but they got more rpm and like said have a good top end . from a roll like that it is not bad . had it been from a dead stop at the track or a light you would of pulled a lot more .

There is a supercharger package that gets them trapping in the 110-112mph range or so. That plus gearing would easily explain it.

their 6.0L v12 only puts out 445? does that seem a little low for a v12?

The whole point of them making it a V12 is to make the power delivery as smooth and seamless as possible... it's a car for cruising the autobahn at 140mph+ all day, not running from stoplight to stoplight. So I wouldn't call it "only" 445hp.

this is going to sound personal but I seriously don't mean it that way...

a 400hp v12 is like a 200hp v8, not worth a damn...

Read above... they also have a 414hp V8 and a 500hp V10. Are they not worth a damn either?

It's kinda like the 335i being twin turbo... they didn't do it to make peak horsepower numbers. But if you look at a 335i dyno graph you'll see why they did. Torque is almost at it's peak by 1800rpm.

I KNEW IT, The cat in here with the mustang(who went to a 4cyl) just had to say something. I meant a v8 with less than 300rwhp is weak. I wasn't aiming that to you, that's just my general opinion. I read that post about the seamless and all that, but seriously WHO CARES about how smooth power is? I sure as hell don't. When I'm smoking mustangs(or s2000s) I better not have a wine sipping ******* riding shotgun with me talking about spilling his chardinae because my V8 is too rough!

414 v8 definitely no shame as well as a 500hp v10, but a v8 with 200hp or a v12 with 400? C'mon **** that! I'll keep my super unsmooth not built for the autobahn ls1 all day!

WTF

No it isn't, its not even frigging similar.

Displacment is where it counts. More cylinders simply allow a smaller pitson in either one or both stroke and bore.

This means they can in theory rev higher, or ultimatley support larger displacements. But they are as a rule smoother.

A 4.0 litre V6 is a bigger engine than a 3.0 litre V8.

You don't sound like you would like "chardinae," whatever the **** that is anyway.
