And what did you run at the track with the 2 Z06's....?....just curious dude.

You act like I talk out of my *** or something. I've done my homework, I am well aware of the capabilities of the Y bodies dude. Street and strip.

I think Fadi ran 125 or 126. Not the best DA, and track prep wasn't worth mentioning in my opinion. Pretty good runs considering the conditions we have at Milan Dragway.

My best trap was 125.6 mph, on a 65* day, with low humidity, shifting my *** off, with a strong as heck Z06 that made 460 rwhp.

Like I said, a stock Z06 will NEVER trap at 129 unless the conditions are beyond perfect in every way, shape, and form.

Nice Job To Both Of You!

Makes me miss my car
GM published the drag coefficient for the c6 z06 to be .34 (regular c6 about .29 I believe). Also, I think depending on options, the ls1 f bodies were about .34 as well. Correct me if I am wrong.

Sweet cars guys by the way!!!

Dennis, the .28 is for the C5 Z06, not the C6 Z06. The C6 Z06 is .34.

But, where people get confused is that they think the Coefficient of drag tells the aerodynamics of a car, and this is not true.

Aerodynamics = coefficient of drag x frontal area. Once you know the frontal area of your car (google it), you can multiply it by the coefficient of drag and that will tell your car's aerodynamics. The lower the number, the better the aerodynamics.

Another mis-understood concept is when aerodynamics come into play. In our races, it never did. Aerodynamics come into play at VERY high speeds, probably not taking place at all until 150 mph or so. My major advantages in our races is weight and gearing. 3100 lb car + optimal gearing for a roll race + 510 rwhp on a Mustang dyno = hard to beat.

I did a search and saw in a couple links that the 2006 zo6 was .28

Otherwise, I agree with everything you say. Your weight and gearing are optimal compared to my car.

On another note, if you look at my tach, I'm in the red. My car can't go any further than 155 mph. It was still pulling good, but that is it.

Ya, .28 is for the C6, not Z06. Although, I do see where some non credible articles state the .28 for the Z06. That is not right. GM published .34. But again, CD is just a number, it is cd x fronal area that is the deciding factor of how aerodynamic your car really is, but that only comes into play at speeds we didn't reach in our races.

I don't race over 160 either. My car will require a shift into 5th gear at 160 and I have never shifted into 5th in a race.

Yup, that's me..

As you can see, all the high trapping Z06 are in the East coast, at sea level tracks, with great drivers, and those runs were made within a negative DA (if you read the details of the run, you will see that).
