Ls7-rx7 Vs. 03 Cobra
#49
I don't know of any complete LS7 cars from forums, but as mentioned not everyone is on a forum. A stock LS1 (01-02) in an FD car will run high 11s with a good driver and good air. That should give you a good baseline for what a cammed LS7 would do. I have yet to get anyone other than a C6 to run me. I beat it easily (20mph roll to 120mph about 4 cars), but he didn't want to talk afterwards so I don't know anything about the car. I still miss my fbody though.
I've already seen people asking around about this silver LS7 RX7

Don't worry I'm well aware of both what an LS7 in a C6Z & a lsx-RX are capable I have almost bought one of those cars that already had the swap done a couple diffrent times & have been around several of them. I have also raced on C6Z & beat it pretty handily (about the same as you with me on street tires instead of my usual MT DR's).
I have great respect for both platforms & I would love to own a bolt-on C6Z06, it's just more money than I want to put in a car.
P.S. I miss both my F-bodies too.

Yup, except the car I ran was just a C6, not a Z. I agree a C6Z06 is just to rich for me in a car. I'm pretty happy with this little car. It is tons of fun to drive and the handling is just insanely nice. Although I've seen some really nice RX7/LS1 cars up for sale; it sounds like you are the type that would need/want to put it together themselves. It was nice to start with a shell and build it just like I wanted. Good fun.

I'm pretty amazed at how many people are bashing the OP about something he has no control over. He didn't put his hand on a bible and state that he knew that the owner had a real LS7 motor in it.
I actually agree with Unit on this when he can't understand why people find it so hard to believe that someone could "already" have done a LS7 RX-7 engine swap. Believe it or not there are people in this world that make pretty good money and can actually afford something like that swap.
Good death! And sweet Cobra!

not really bashing here man just stating that a LS7 RX7 should performe better then what was said and the fact that there are only a few LS7 FD's out there really. Also the fact that my LS1 FD would stand up to the cobra like what he described just sounds like its a LS1 rather then a LS7.

There are not that many ls7 rx7s out there. I think that there are only 2 on the west coast running and one in Colorado.
Here is a video of a rx7 to give a idea what they run and this one does not have a ls7.
