i did some more research and they may be turbo after all...they had turbo upgrades listed for the wrx/sti so maybe it is...someone will chime in. either way you can definitely take a regular wrx. just watch out for the sti.

Just talked with my boss, he has the slower WRX turbo, its not the STI version, this is the one i'm thinking has the V6 300 horse, maybe its a 4, but i doubt it, & yes, these cars hail the mail, i've seen them at the track.

the sti's had a 300hp turbo 4cylinder until they changed back to the hatchback recently and i forget the changes they have made now. the legacy had a n/a 6 cylinder at one time but i dont think they make that engine anymore.

OP, i think you are going to take a major dump on him even on street tires.

K - 227 hp wrx turbo vs. your LT1. I'd give my daily driver a better chance than that thing...

Uggghhh.

06+ WRX and the STi both got a 2.5L Turbo. Before that the WRX had a 2.0T.

WRX is a AWD 2.5 H4 turbo with 230hp (06+, older had 227hp)
STi is a AWD 2.5 H4 turbo with like 300hp (didnt look at the exact STi numbers)

Your friend is http://auto.consumerguide.com

The only reason he will ever be ahead of you from a dig is because of a strong launch on the AWD. They aren't light enough for their what...18xawhp to contend with a 250+rwhp LT1.

Rape him.

Dan
