Subaru WRX vs. LT1 with bolt-ons?
I will in the near future have a race with my boss, he has an 06 WRX, its "Bone" stock, i'm sure its the 4 cyl. 230 horse version, now he thinks he can beat me, i don't think he can, what do these cars run with a GOOD driver? I pulled off a 13.7 @ 101 in mine on a crappy 2.17 60ft. (in decent air), but sense then, i've installed a 9" & i'll be running 4.11s, i'm waiting to get some stickies, so i can launch hard & leave him in the dust lol, i'm running an M6. I know some of the Subaru's run really good, but what about the one i've discribed? Me personally, i'm not concerned about looseing, unless i'm overlooking something lol.

Well i know what Mopar power will do "look at my sig " anyhoo, i love my Z & the LT1, i'm sure i'll beat him, he's not packing the 300 horse 6, i won't run him on steet tires, i'll just go up in smoke, especially with the 4.11s. Just want to anialate him off the line, then i'm sure he won't catch me (as long as i don't miss a gear ), i'm thinking the car he has is good for around 100 in the 1/4, maybe less.

A 6 cylinder impreza??? Surely you don't mean a WRX STI? The sti has a 2.5l H4 (ej255). The pre 2006 WRX has a 2.0l H4 (ej205) that puts out 227hp (nowhere near that to the wheels). The 2006+ has the ej25 H4 that puts out 230hp (capable of a decent amount if modded). You should beat him fairly easily. Bare in mind though, the sti has the ej255 H4 so the 06+ wrx (which has a similar though not identical motor) is capable if built properly. But you said his was stock, so have fun destroyinh him.

Forget about the 6 cyl. impreza, i'm sure its the 2.5l, but he did say it was the lower HP version, he mentioned 230 hp., OK, so this 230 hp is NOT to the rear wheels right? I've seen him get on it, it looked ok, but nothing serious. He wanted to race me in his girlfriends mustang 1st. & if i beat it, then he would run me in the WRX, when i asked, he said the WRX was faster then the stang, so i told him i'm not settleing for 2nd. rate, bring on the faster ONE

In a drag race, if he can drive it would be close. A local guy here has a run a 12.9 at 101mph in an STi. That was on street tires. It's all in the launch.
BTW, both the regular WRX and STi are 4 cylinders. The regular Rex having 2.0L and the STi (U.S. version) having 2.5 liters of displacement. Rated 225BHP and 300BHP respectively.
If he can not get it off the line hard, he will be seeing your tail-lights all the way.

Yeah i know, but just to let YOU know LOL, he does have a weight advantage, i'll bet i'm not over 280 at the wheels, but now i'm finding out his HPs not at the wheels, in that case, i should murder him, i may just say **** on it & run him with my Cooper street tires , i'll just need to test them against the 4.11s, because with the 3.50s & a 4500 easy drop they spun through 1st. big time.

you will have no worries if its the normal wrx. there dogs. and dont have the power to launch hard either. if you was already running 13's before your new mods. it will be even worse now.
heh Diamblo yes there are quick Sti's but on average there a mid 13 sec car ive ran WAY to many and beat them to bad to ever be worried with them in stock form and that was when i was running 13 flats@107 .
cant belive they turned the new sti's back into the old 1970 rally minivan looking versions lol

And to the OPer you won't have any problem at all with his car unless you just flat out cannot drive your car and you go up in smoke. If he does jump you out of the hole (very possible) just stick to your launch best as you can and just run him down. You got this one in the bag!

Well now i'm confused , because his car IS turbo'ed, now when i went on e-bay to research these cars, they were listed as turbo powered , so what gives??? I'm not at all into these foreign jobs, so all i know is his is a black 4 door turbo powered unit with that little scoop, now when i looked at the WRXs on e-bay, they were listed as WRXs with the 2.5L with a turbo, just a couple were listed as the STI. Maybe i do have a race on my hands if its an STI lol.
