Smile Raced a Roush Stage 3 Mustang

I had two runs vs a supercharged Roush Stage 3. This one was lowered and had bigger rubber, no telling if it had other mods.

Both runs were pretty close, from 70 in third he stayed neck and neck until I shifted to 4rth and I started to inch away. At the end of 4rth he was at my rear fender.

This particular one was blue and I have to say it looked awesome, but I would think for the $$ the car should have more power. Either way you don't see many of those around so it was fun to have a go with it.

I am running less power right now since I forged and stroked the car, I have 360whp and 380wtq down from 426whp after lowering the compression to run boost. The 9:1:1 compression hurts, once I have the $ to finish and put the the ATI
Procharger these contest wont be close.

Nice kill. Wow, you lost 66rwhp from lowering compression? Crazy.

I am doing another dyno on July 12, I am eager to see what the power numbers are. Baker Engeneering in Nunica Michigan did my engine work. Their dyno is notorious for low numbers, ofcourse the 426 I had was not verified by me. The OG owner gave me those numbers from his engine work at SpeedInc.

What would you have expected to loose? I was kind of pissed when I saw that, from the seat of my pants it does feel slower, and the races I have had againts cars that normally would be no trouble are a bit more contested now.

Nice kill...I tried to race one once but once he saw that I had no problem racing him he got scared at turned, I actually thought he would beat me and judging from your rwhp numbers he probably would have had me.

Nunica? Are you familiar with West Michigan? Its just outside Spring Lake and Grand Haven. I am in Muskegon.

Very nice kill. I would have to guess it was modded beyond stock boost levels based on it's performance. Anyone agree?

They are both pretty close in the horsepower dept between 427 and the stage 3.

Sounds like it was a pretty good run if you ask me.Good kill!!!!

I think you're right. There was one at Sears Point "stock" without even CAI trapping 110mph to my 109mph. Judging by the way OP slowly walked it from 70mph, it seems about right.

I would guess from a dig the OP would have walked it a little more.

I would also say this is about right. I saw a Roush dyno recently at it was 360-365 rwhp. I was expecting more.

Just got back from the dyno, the numbers are not spectacular but considering the 9:1:1 compression I am running I am ok with it.

376whp and 399wtq, the car is making 350lb of torque at 2k rpms

Yep...that's why they get the Ford warranty award.....aftermarket only supports 7psi (over stock 5psi). any more you need a custom pulley made.

No it was not, it was a blue stage 3 with 2 white stripes bumper to bumper.

I have yet to see one of these 427 rolling around.
