Yeah, what he said.
But just for fun lets do the math then. They're not gunna pull a 1.80 all the time, and I certainly hope not a 2.20. So lets go right in the middle with a 2.0.
Now lets take the middle of a 14.00 and a 13.60= a 13.80. Just like I said. So depending on if you think we're wayyyyyy off either up or down, the facts are there on every magazine and website. High 13 second car. Unless you're a great driver, have a factory freak, or at different altitudes.

Well, alot of us Stangers have respect for GM and maybe even own one or have owned a GM in the past, so that's why most of us are here. It's just guys chattin about cars, with exceptions of a few over confident fellows, so it's all good. Most of the talk about Ford, is all forum bull, and it's obvious that people don't know what they're talking about. I don't care about what a magazine says when I line up to race, so I dunno. I used to fear the LS1, now I don't. I respect em, but I don't fear em cuz it really don't happen on the tracks I go to the way people talk. Most of the drivers out there get high 13's apparently, but I know some guys who have 13.2 timeslips stock. Bottom line. Same day, same track, same conditions, stock for stock, the LS1 is about 2 tenths quicker than an S197, not a full second as the forums state.

I used to think all GM for years, till 05 when I bought my Stang. Now, I like Ford too. Now all I have to do is get an SRT8 and it'll be complete.

With that fantastic 60' time and good track conditions, that car would see bottom 13s. Just like I said. Some magazines run high 13s, just like they do with some LS1s. But I like how you choose to ignore that even magazines have gotten 13.6s out of AUTOMATIC Mustang GTs. The whole "dragstrip error" thing is precisely why I deal with what the CARS are capable of, not necessarily what you see at the track, or what the average driver is capableof. Cuz the average driver blows donkey *****.

Agreed.
F-bodys have seen 12 second runs stock. But the point is, is that your never going to see it. It has only happened a couple times. So people don't refer to Firebirds and Camaros as 12 second cars, they refer to them as 13 second cars, because that is what they run 99% of the time. A low 13 is possible from a GT maybe, But the general public is never going to refer to them running that, and the chance that they will is very slim.
I totally understand what you're saying though.

The problem is just how you're phrasing it... with a good driver, 13.9 would be embarassing in a new GT. On average, F-bodies are low-mid 13s, and GTs are mid-high 13s. Like a previous poster said, the F-body is on average .2-.3s quicker in the 1/4 in like conditions with equal drivers.

By going on what I have read, not what I have seen, people have been having trouble getting a 14 flat outta those cars. So if I drove one to a 13.8 or 9, I'd be content
But in the end, we agree to disagree

Cuz you've been here so long . If you open your eyes you'd notice that I post facts about EVERY car. If someone comes on here in a stock LT1 and says they beat an '07 350Z by 5 cars, I (and everyone else with sense) am gonna call . I'm not some robot that just says "Good kill, "blah blah blahs are slow," for every kill story I read. Sorry if that gets under your skin. Wait... no I'm not

You're right.
However its not all magazine racing.
It's what the cars run.

This, is why I lovvvvve racing guys with LS1's and 2's at the track. Cuz they really believe my car is a 14 second car at first glance. You should see them afterwards. They usually have a whole lot of questions about my mods.

Nice kill anyways, before this dissolves to bickering. My roommate raced his brothers 07 GT in my T/A last weekend I'm waiting to hear how it went (stuck in the middle of the friken pacific...) hopefully the same outcome.
