Some of us are simple car guys, we just prefer a stang. Funny thing is, if you joined a stang forum, you'd know that some stang owners defend fbodies against ignorance too. It's not a one way street like you want to believe it is.

I go by what I see, not just by what I read

heh my only question would be why did you buy a slow car. ran countless 05+ stangs. was always....i repeat always 1-3 lengths ahead. usually when those mustangs are running those "Low 13s" every other car is also running 2-3 tenths quicker than normal. its called DA.

at about 1200 DA at beech bend when i was stock couple years ago. id run 13.5@105 they would run 13.6@102 to 13.8@104 every time that was the outcome unless they goofed up a shift. i hit 2.1 60fts. they would hit 2.060ft and i would just roll by. Mind you I'm a Auto Convertible heavier and and slower than any other ls1 and there was no driving issue for them. that is just all those cars had to give.

13.6 is pretty on par with a 13.5. NO? (not to mention the 13.6 had a lower trap than the 13.8, so obviously that 13.8 had 'more in her').

**So, I guess my question to is, why did YOU by a slow car as well?

**Disclaimor: that was not a dig on LS1s, it was a rhetoical question to make a point in what the poster was saying.

I compare cars based on what I know they can do with a driver than knows what he's doing and a good track. Every car. That's the only way you can make a realistic and valid comparison between cars. If I went only by what I saw bad drivers run at the track and races I had on the street, then my old exhaust-only 3.27 geared 5spd '98 GT was as quick as LT1 F-bodies. And by your reasoning that's correct, since I stayed dead nuts even with two of them from several different roll speeds, and stayed a carlength back from a dig. So my mid 14s Mustang (on a good day) was as fast as an LT1 F-body, right? And my BONE STOCK Integra GS-R beat a modded '97 Cobra in the 1/8 mile and only lost by .2 in the 1/4. So obviously Cobras are mid 14s cars with a few bolt-ons, right?
