So the opinion herein is that the majority of the time an ls1 stick or auto is going to take down an EVO X?

That's kind of funny if it's true.

 

Stock for stock, the LS1 should be the victor.

 

yea...when they start modding the evo's thats when it gets crazy

From a dig the F-body *should* be playing catch-up, but in the 1/4 it should be pretty close. LS1 has more top-end stock vs. stock. Not sure why that's "kind of funny" though...

 

I know the mitsu's can be stupid fast for a reasonable price. Friend just sold his untuned gt35r GSX, it ran pretty poorly but when there was no fuel cut it screamed.

I was just wondering what the performance level of the new evo was, since I've never ridden in an evo or wrx/sti.

 

The evo 9 and LS1 have both recorded sub 13 second 1/4 mile times bone stock (high 12's)...

The evo 10 stock? Not so much. Stuck in the mid 13's stock with an aggressive launch so far.

 

Something doesn't add up here. The Evo X's are actually slower than the Evo 9's, they have less power to the wheels and weigh a couple hundred pounds more. Most of them have been doctumented by the mags running around 13.6-13.9 at 99-101MPH tops.

You have a full bolt on LS1 pushing over 100WHP more than he is, with approximately the same weight. You should have destroyed him like he was going backwards, no contest. Perhaps he ws lying about mods, rice drivers love to do that so their cars don't appear as slow as they really are.

Its called hustling and street racing. People think you aren't modded, you race them for more money, beat them, take more money than if you had told them your mods.

I agree, but at the moment im just at 340hp/tq to the wheels (not so good tune) and my clutch is all but gone.

He could have been lieing.

 

So basically you've got about 120WHP on him, and both cars weigh about the same. Shouldn't even be a race.

Time for a new clutch

FWIW, I've personally seen that stock vette trap 110, so I'm guessing this X's trapping around there. The owner says it weighs 3550lbs, lol. He has no plans on making it faster though, it's his dd. This is the fastest X I've seen (out of the 2 I've seen run.. lol)

He lists his mods as test pipe, intercooler, boost controller.

You don't go from a 215WHP dog of an engine to walking by a 415WHP GTO with those three things. Its just not going to happen. Obviously he's lying about what he has done to the car. Turbo car or not, there is no way you're going to almost double your HP with those 3 mods.

Doesn't add up.

 

Good kill and race! I raced one from a 30 and got him by a couple cars too. There pretty quick but not as fast as i expected. Then again all they need to do is turn up the boost lol.

 

The new Evo X is too damn heavy.
