Default Despite my driving killed a C6 tonight

I'm coming home from a car show at a local bar, I admit I took the long way to maybe get a race. Well I see abrand new C6 with some loud exhaust and big tips up in front of me. I gotta say the car was freakin beautiful. It was white with that big exhaust and sounded great. My car was looking good too since I just had it in the show. I pull up next to him at about 40 and it's a pretty young kid, he gives me the thumbs up and stabs the gas a little. So I stab it and fall back to a 40 mph roll right next to him. We both go for it at the exact same time, no honks, good mojo or something. Well my dumbass forgets to shut off the traction control and immediatly I break the tires loose and the engine starts poppin from the TC. Needless to say I loose 2 lengths before my car catchs and goes. I begin pulling him and as my car shifts to 3rd he shifts and I pull even. Then I got 2 lengths on him at about 100 and I back off as there is some traffic up ahead. We slow at the next light and he ends up being a real cool guy. Asked me if my car was supercharged and then tells me he has a lid full exhaust and a tune. I told him I loved the white and he said it was the rarest color for 08'. Light turns green and he makes a left. I felt good about the whole thing and that Vette was faster than I expected. My stalled auto sucks at rolls from 40 and I still took him.

Nice kill, yeah the LS3 vettes are pretty quick stock, and are flat out ridiculous with LTs & a cam (run similar to the C6 ZO6s)

You are absolutly correct sir. I installed the D1 about a month ago. I went for the first tune and the motor pulled 450HP at the rear wheels and maxed out the Cobra fuel pumps. So he backed the tune off to 390HP and set the rev limiter at 5800 not to damage the motor. Just last week I installed a Kenne Bell boost a pump and bought it back to the tuner with enough fuel he did a conservative tune and got it back to 442HP. I have the stock shortblock. When I get a forged shortblock I am shooting for 650HP or so.

Ah, good times. I sure do miss my Cobra sometimes. Your car will be a blast.

Nice kill man, 450rwhp is about as far as you wanna push the stock short on a gt/mach correct? Sounds like you have a bad mach!

Yea Mach's are even worse than GT's because of the 10-1 compression. Weak cast pistons+weak cast rods+10-1 compression=BOOM. Everyone says I should be fine under 450. I use 100 octane at the track, don't hot lap it and keep the revs under 6500. The auto helps alot cause I can control the shift points with no accidents.

I don't believe anyone has cast rods. Maybe powdered metal forgings, maybe even weak, but not cast.

Hell yeah, good kill.

Way to represent us stalled auto guys. Specially from a roll against a Vette.

Soon I'll have enough power (much like your car), to overcome our roll racing issues against 6speed cars.

What does your car run at the track?

The local track is being completely rebuilt. It's gonna open in Oct. I can't wait to run it. i'm hoping for 11's also. I love my stalled auto, although having alot of trouble getting traction. I don't want to run drag radials on the street. Awsome video on that 11 second run. Sounded great.

Nice Kill man....Glad to see you're having some fun with that bad boy. Always lovin the CO mach's.

11s should be no problem at all even with the lower rev limiter. 4.10s, stall, and 440+rwhp...you're good to go.
